Grouping - Diagram text box and picture

I had a text box with text and inserted a picture in it. Try as I might I couldn't group them - When I highlighted one then highlighted the other the first was un-grouped. Am I missing something ?

To group two or more items you must first select them all, such that all their 8 resizing handles are all displayed.
Method 1:
Select first item, then hold down the Ctrl key on keyboard while selecting other items.
Method 2:
Click and hold the left mouse button, then drag to draw a dotted rectangle around all the items to be selected.
When they are all selected either right-click the mouse within the selection and choose Grouping > Group or use menu Diagram > Order & Grouping > Group.
