If you are wanting to install the V5 upgrade on Linux (Or any system), then you only need to install the V5 upgrade as long as you have a valid v4 & v5 key. There is an article in the knowledge bas which covers this. Also how to install on Linux.

Check the following Wiki topics:
how_to:index#installation_guide|> Family Historian > Installation Guide
especially how_to:reinstall_family_historian|> How to (Re-)install Family Historian
and how_to:install_family_historian_with_crossover_wine|> How to Install Family Historian with Crossover and Wine

If you are trying to install the FH Upgrade V4 to V5 product then there is no need to install earlier versions.

If you do not have FH V5 yet, then I strongly advise you upgrade, because all the advice for installing FH in Crossover/Wine revolves around FH V5.
If you have FH V4 then buy the FH Upgrade V4 to V5 otherwise buy the Full V5 product.
