Hello, I am very new to FH and nearly left until I discovered how to change all the fonts, sizes and colours on most of the record windows (eyesight not brilliant these days). It all looked too fuzzy and washed-out until I changed most fonts to Calibri and made them a bit darker and larger. Surprising how much crisper it looks. Anyway, it is great to be able to change things - not every genealogy software allows you to do this. I am currently trying out a few of them! It would be good to be able to customise the background colours of the focus window - maybe you can but so far not discovered it.
I have also been testing out Roots Magic - their research log and to do lists are something I would find very useful. I did notice some tips on a way to do a research log on this site, something I can try and do with a bit more experience! I prefer the FH source entry box to that of Roots Magic. It is more prominent - and I like the option to float it in the centre and stretch it to size.

Re: Display fonts
Welcome to the FHUG.
As a newcomer have you discovered and explored the [kb]|[/kb] ?
Have a look at how_to:key_features_for_newcomers|> Key Features for Newcomers.
See also how_to:v4:focus_window|> Focus Window Introduction, Printout, and Customisation.
You will find that FH has very extensive customisation features.
