Diagram anomaly

Post by mezentia » 15 Sep 2014 15:42

I did a simple ancestor diagram today, and was surprised to see that my wife's 7 x gt grandparents were her 7 x gt grandparents!

I've attached a screenshot. What's gone wrong here?

It's more likely some cousins marrying or an extra family link somewhere, have you done a "how related" from the tools menu and reviewed if there is more than one route from them to you your Wife? Also I presume you are showing how related to the file root, what happens if you go to the diagram root?

Hm ....

it seems as though my wife's parents were both 6th and 7th cousins :o so there are two routes back to her 7x and 8x gt grandparents.

You live and learn ;)
