Hi,
First problem I have ever had really from V2 on......
Running V5.0.9 on Win 8.1. I have had this new PC for several months with no problems...
Today I went to open my main project and I got the "Unrecognised format - If you are trying insert a picture......use restore on the file menu". If I click "ok" it just cycles back to the open project window. As such I cannot access my main FH project file, a major issue.
I have tried import and looked throughout help and menus but cannot resolve. Heeeellllpppp!!!
What have I done recently.
1.Moved all my project files and data to another drive and repointed the location from the project window.
2.In my main file I have added a few new attributes for Military Service No and other military aspects.
I suspect the problem is the latter but if I cannot open the file how can I fix it.??!!
I have 3 other project files in the same location and all these open fine.
If I open one of the 3 other project files I get a validate message and a notepad report of corrupt IDs. This seems to relate to the main project file opened earlier...a bit odd.
I backup incrementally daily so all is not lost but ideally I would just like to resolve the issue and not lose work.
Can anyone out there help me?
Cheers
Bob Oliver

Re: Project Access Issue
Bob,
1. Have you tried comparing the file structure of your 'main' project with one of the others that do work/load correctly? It's possible that something 'got lost' when you were moving the files to their new location.
2. Are you able to open the gedcom file in your 'main project' in Family Historian instead of the project?

Re: Project Access Issue
This advice may be too late, but when making such significant changes, keep the original Family Historian Projects folder contents intact until the change has been successfully completed.
The best way to move Projects is to use the FH File > Project Window > More Tasks > Copy Project option.
If you still have, or can reconstitute, your original Projects then use that approach.
