In other Genealogical software I have used there is a way in which an action or to do list can be made.
It can be created and used for both individuals and families to list the next steps to be taken.
This is particularly useful in large family trees. I cannot find a way of doing this in FM.
Is there one?

Re: Action Lists
A couple of approaches are documented in the wiki:

Re: Action Lists
Hi
I could be being dim, but either the Named List Approach wrt to Repository visits isn't well described, or it is and I don't get it.
I would like FH to produce a list for me of all the items I want to research at a certain archive
Would it be possible to go through a worked example?
Say, for the sake of argument, records for Licensed Victuallers, Metropolitan Police officers, and Army Service records are all held at TNA. I'm going there next week and I would like a list of all the people/records I want to research, together with associated place and date info I've already entered in FH that would help with the search
After I've come home and entered as much as I found, I would like to be able to produce a new Research list that has excluded the people I've already checked, whether the search was successful or not
With FH's functionality, I feel this should be possible but can't work a way of achieving it
TIA for any help/guidance

Re: Action Lists
The Named List approach allows you to list the Individual (or other) records of interest.
You can have as many different Named Lists as you like.
Then you use the Publish Reports or View Queries to produce a report of the details required for the nominated Named List of Individuals.
You choose the Individuals when selecting the records by using the Query option and using the Named List query.
You choose which details to include by customising the Report or Query.
The alternative Custom Attribute approach adds a customisable Fact to each Individual of interest.
You can create a report of just those or other details as required.
The Knowledge Base link given above includes a link to download a zip file that provides an example set of installation files to set up this approach.
With either approach when you come home you edit the Named List or Custom Attributes to reflect your results.
It is true that unlike some other products, FH has no Research/To Do feature out of the box.
BUT it does have many customisation features that let you build the reporting style you need or something very similar.
