I have just transferred my info from another program(TMG) I am using the opportunity to revisit my sources and making sure I have my citations accurate. I have found I am unable to find one of my references and clearly didn't do much of a job describing it accurately or where it's located so finally my query is this: is there a way I can find out which person/event/record has this source cited against it. The source list shows it as cited once. Perhaps it is really simple and I'm still finding my way. Any help would be appreciated

Jean,
A warm welcome. Try this:
Select your source and in the Family Historian Menu Bar, click 'View' and then Record Links...

Re: Citations
Hello Jean,
Welcome to FHUG.
The quickest way is to select your source in the records window and then on the main toolbar click View and then Record Links (near the bottom of the drop-down menu). This shows all records by which the source is cited, but not the exact field within the records.
There is also a standard query called Individuals Linked to Source, but this, as it the name suggests, only lists individual records and does not include other record types.
Finally there is a plugin available from the plugin store (accessed from the Tools menu) called List All Citations for a Source. This will produce a results set showing exactly which field within each record is citing the source.

Re: Citations
Lorna's final option, the plugin, has the advantage that if you double click on the Fact the Property box will open on the fact rather than just on the person. This is true for any field in a Result set (from a Query or Plugin) which is shown in Black.

Many thanks all. I like the sound of the plug in especially as I have the feeling that the error or slackness in entering may not be an isolated incident. Have not tried any plug ins yet so that will also be a learning experience!
