Hi again -is there a way of getting a list of people's names that haven't got sources/citations attached to them in a-z order? When I used FTM it corrupted a lot of my sources and info so now I would like to correct it.

You should be able to do this via a Query. Have a look at these and see if any will do what you want:

or you might be able to modify one of them. Check the help files for installing and creating custom queries.

If you get stuck there's people in here who are good at creating and modifying queries (unfortunately I'm not one of them!) and will be happy to help.

Remember sources should be against the Facts as well as the names, so you might need to experiment a little to see what you want to check first. In the list David suggested there are some for BMD source checking so you can confirm your sources for birth, marriage and death events and other for checking Census entries etc, you can also have sources at the record level and attached to names.

Thanks for the info.
Why can't people facts/sources be combined with occupation facts? One of my people emigrated and on the log it said the date she emigrated, her address at the time anf her occupation but according to FH5 I can't copy the citation from the emigration fact to the occupation fact; so that means I 've had to call it another new fact even though it's the same one!?

This Plugin derived from List All Citations for a Source will list every Citation for every Source but will take a while to run if there are a lot.
Download it from my OneDrive at List All Citations for All Sources.

You can copy Citations from one Fact (e.g. Emigration) to another Fact (e.g. Occupation).
Select the Emigration Fact and in the yellow Sources pane click the Copy Citation button.
Select the Occupation Fact and in the yellow Sources pane click the Paste Citation button.

I advise you look through the how_to:family_historian_documentation|> FH Documentation and spend some time understanding its capabilities.

I am not clear what you mean by this, a citation is the link between a source and a fact, you can copy citations from one fact to another, just use the copy citation button in the source pane.

Thanks again for all your help; I'm very pleased with FH5 and prefer it to FTM2014, it loads quicker and is faster in all respects coping with my 13000 plus names.
