Change of name for inheritance

Post by amateur » 27 Mar 2014 14:40

How can I enter a person who has changed their name on receipt of an inheritance? ie a son who has added his mother's maiden name as his surname, whilst keeping his original (father's) surname as a second forename

Take a look at

Thanks for that Jane and I have successfully downloaded the Name Change attribute. My next question is how do I put him under his new surname in the records of individuals

In the Individual Property Box to the right of the Name fields there is a more (+)... link.
Click that, and you can Add as many Alternative Names as you like.

To swap any Alternative Name with the Primary Name use Make Primary then that name will be shown everywhere by default.

In the Records Window click the + against any Individual and all their Names are shown.
