Record Flag

Apologies if this question has already been answered. I know how to manage record flags on diagrams but is there any way to set a flag on an individual fact or event to highlight that the information has been taken from a transcription or someone else's tree and that the original source needs to be checked.
Many thanks
Jenny

Yes Jenny, that sort question has been asked before, and the answer lies in how_to:using_flags_and_icons_and_expressions|> Using Flags and Icons and Expressions.

To be absolutely clear, you can only set Flags on Individual Records which is somewhat limited.
Whereas, Expressions are far more powerful and can be based on Facts, Sources, Keywords, etc, and applied to Diagram Boxes, Queries, Record Window Columns, etc.

Once you can get your head round them, and have set them up, you can forget about them, because they work automatically, unlike Flags that always need to be set & cleared manually.

So in your case I suggest that the Source Record or the Citation has a unique field value that can be tested by an Expression (e.g. the local Note field could say Unratified).

I presume you then want the Diagram Box to have some feature (Icon, Colour, Shape) to indicate an Unratified Source.
It would also be easy to produce a Query Result Set to list them all.
That is all covered in the Knowledge Base article mentioned above.
