Creating a Query/Fact

Post by Marshei » 03 Mar 2014 17:13

I would like to generate a list like "list baptisms and burials for specific places" to include Marriages.
I'm not very good at this sort of thing so any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks in advance. :D

I have moved this from User Group which is about this FHUG web site, to General Usage which is about using FH.

Start from the List baptisms and burials for specific places Query.
Open the Rows filter tab, and select either of the Add if =FactLabel() entries.
In the Value box bottom left, enter marriage and click the Add button bottom right.
Finally click the black up arrow Move Up icon towards middle left.
Lastly you should use the Query Menu top right Save As Custom Query with a Name that includes marriage.
This works for any Facts by deleting Add if =FactLabel() entries, or changing their Value names.

Unfortunately, some of the Columns will be blank for Marriages where they should have data.
So on the Columns tab, perform the following Updates.
For each of the Married Name, and Father and Mother entries:
Change the Expression part that says (FactLabel(%FACT%) = "Burial") to a similar part including Marriage ((FactLabel(%FACT%) = "Baptism") or (FactLabel(%FACT%) = "Marriage"))
then click the Update button.
