Hi
I keep my projects in Dropbox folders but the Individual Records - Records Window columns are different on different computers. How do I arrange for changes in the view on one computer to appear on the other.

Re: Using Dropbox
The changes will sync automatically. If they are not then the most likely reason is you have two copies of the project, triple check the folder paths on both computers.

Re: Using Dropbox
Mike, in order to give you the best answer can you please update your Profile via User Control Panel centre top with your Family Historian Version.
( I think Jane has misunderstood the question - it is the Column Configuration that need syncing not the Project data.)
If you are using FH V5 then the Plugin Backup and Restore Family Historian Settings is designed for the job.
Just make sure you read its Help & Advice beforehand regarding synchronising PC.
This not only synchronises Records Window Columns but all other customisations.
Some settings require the Windows Registry to be updated but the most common settings can be synchronised using just data files.
See how_to:move_settings|> Move Family Historian Settings & Projects for details regarding Core Diagram Settings and Record Window Columns.

Re: Using Dropbox
Hi Mike
I am new to FH and I expected the configuration to be saved with the project as I trying to use different configurations in different projects with different aims.
I see now that how I set FH data display for one project is applied to any project I open on that computer.

Re: Using Dropbox
You are correct that most FH customisations affect all Projects.
However, there are a few exceptions, and different User Accounts on the PC have some personal customisations.
See how_to:understanding_scope_of_features|> Understanding the Scope of Features for full details.
It is possible for the Plugin Backup and Restore Family Historian Settings to keep customisations per Project.
Just Backup the settings to the Project Public folder, and Restore them from there next time you use that Project.
Since each Project has its own Public folder, the settings can be different for every Project.
Also the Public folder gets transferred via Dropbox so the same options are on every PC.
