Property Box Tabs Military, Census & Wills
Hi I installed this Property Box Facts set some time ago and using Ancestral Sources have successfully populated the Census tab data. However, I do not seem to be able to manually add data direct to the Property Boxes - Military and Wills. Have I forgotten to do something? If I add data and move to the next field the data clears leaving a blank - can someone provide some advice as I would like to use the military and wills tabs on the Property Box. Many thanks

Did you follow the Installation Instructions in fhugdownloads:contents:property_box_tabs_military_census_wills|> Property Box Tabs: Military & Census & Wills to download and install the associated Fact Sets?

Re: Property Box Tabs Military, Census & Wills
I believe I did, the tabs are available and the fields present but I am unable to add data to them. I installed it about a year ago so cannot absolutely confirm. I have been working through census records via Ancestral Sources (census data is present) - assuming that I failed to install as per instructions - can you provide advice on re-installing without loosing any of the census data already captured via Ancestral Sources - do I need to delete it first? Many thanks

DO NOT DELETE ANYTHING.
Property Box Tab and Fact Set customisations are completely independent from your Census and any other Fact data.
Just because the tabs and the fields are displayed in the Property Box does not necessarily guarantee that the associated Fact Sets are installed, and I suspect they are missing.
To check, use FH Tools > Work with Fact Sets and click on the Fact Set drop-down list at the top left.
Does it include Death_or_Burial1 and Electoral_Roll and Military2 in the list, along with Custom and Standard?
(BTW the Census tab Census fields work because they only use Standard Facts, whereas all the other tabs/fields need the 3 custom Fact Sets.)
I think you will find that the data you have been entering is creating <Custom Events> if you look on the Facts tab, which also indicates the Fact Sets are missing.
If those three Fact Sets are missing, then follow the Installation Instructions in fhugdownloads:contents:property_box_tabs_military_census_wills|> Property Box Tabs: Military & Census & Wills to download and install those three Fact Sets by clicking on the three Fact Set links in turn and following their Installation Instructions.
If on the other hand those three Fact Sets are listed, then please can you describe precisely which Property Box tab fields you are entering with what data values, how you enter them, and exactly what happens.

Hi
Thank you - you were right the fact sets were missing it would appear when I re-installed FH v 4 followed by the upgrade to 5 plus the property box tabs plus the files onto a new laptop I failed to include the fact sets. Many thanks I have now installed the fact sets and everything seems to be working fine. Apologies for the oversight but the help was much appreciated - I think I spent too much time looking and not seeing the obvious!

Re: Property Box Tabs Military, Census & Wills
Hi Jacqui,
I am glad that all worked out.
BTW when installing on a new PC you do NOT have to install FH V4 before installing the FH V5 upgrade.
Also you can transfer all your custom settings - Property Box tabs, Fact Sets, Diagrams, Queries, Reports, etc, etc from old PC to new PC.
See the how_to:index#installation_guide|> Family Historian > Installation Guide especially how_to:reinstall_family_historian|> How to (Re-)install Family Historian and how_to:move_settings|> Move Family Historian Settings & Projects.
It may be too late now, but bear it in mind next time you need to install FH V5.

Re: Property Box Tabs Military, Census & Wills
I've also just downloaded the Military and Census Property Boxes. But is there any way I can move the tabs around? I've got so used to having Facts next to Main I keep clicking the wrong tab.
Thanks in advance
Ron

No, I am afraid not, all custom tabs can only exist between the Main and Facts tabs.
The order of these custom tabs can be changed via Menu > Customize > More Tab Tasks > Move Tab Up/Down, but cannot be moved before Main or after Facts.

Thanks Mike. I was getting that impression, but thought I'd double check.
