linking cousins that marry

I have a distant cousin John that married Sarah. I put all loads of details in for Sarah and John at the time I discovered that they married. What I didn't know at that time was that they were cousins through Johns mother and Sarah's mother (both obviously sisters). My question is how do I link this marriage to the two families without putting the same info in twice over. :?: Hope this makes sense.

All you need to do is marry John and Sarah.

If John's mother is recorded correctly and if Sarah's mother is also recorded correctly - and if the two mothers are correctly recorded as sisters, then that's all that is needed. You don't need to "link this marriage to the two families" - you just need to marry the two people.

Everything is recorded exactly but not linked as yet

Sorry - what do you mean when you say, "linked"? (Or rather, not linked!)

As an aside, could Mocky please set your Family Historian Version in your Profile via the User Control Panel centre top.
This will ensure that we give the best answer for your FH version.

Perhaps Mocky means that both John and Sarah already have Spouses, so the Individuals and the Marriage are duplicated.
In which case Edit > Merge/Compare Records for these pairs of Individuals should solve the problem.

Alternatively, Mocky means that John and Sarah are already Married but not linked to their parents.
Assuming both parental sisters exist in the database, then in the Focus Window for John and Sarah use the link Add John's Mother and Link Existing Record for his mother, then use the link Add Sarah's Mother and Link Existing Record for her mother.
