Font size

Post by inchtalla » 20 Nov 2013 16:49

I've looked at previous answers to this- all very clear ( and read chapters 9 and 10 ) however still having a problem whilst I can change the font size of the "name" but if I try to change other items in "items used in this scheme" nothing happens.
By this I mean I'd highlight "birth" and edit the font size but it only changes the "Name"

The initial font (which will apply to both the name and anything else below it) is easily changed by clicking Select in the Edit Text Scheme window, then clicking Apply or OK.

If you want to change the font for subsequent items, it takes a few more steps. First, in Edit Text Scheme select <Font change (style, text colour etc)> near the top of the list of available items on the left hand side. Then click the ">" symbol in the centre. You will now be able to select a font. After choosing your font, click OK. You won't see any change yet. This is because the font change item is at the bottom of the list of Items used, on the right hand side. You need to use the up/down arrows below the list on the right to move the font change item up to immediately before the first item you want to change. So to change the font for Birth, move it up to immediately before Birth. Now click Apply. You should find that all items from Birth onwards have the new font.

If you want to change the font again for other items, you need to repeat this process. Each font change will apply to all items coming after it, until the next font change is reached.

I hope that makes sense!

Thanks so much - I've been reading the chapter looking at past answers most of the afternoon. That was a brilliant concise answer.
