Problems creating a CD/DVD

I'm am running V5.07 and am tying to 'Make a Family Tree CD/DVD'.

This is the firsttime I have tried in V5, it worked ok in V4.

I am choosing all the defualt options and when I get to the 'finish' prompt at the end it says 'An error occurred during CD/DVD content creation'.

The only thing that looks odd is on the 'Step 3 - Choose Report Template' screen there is nothing in 'Primary Page type' and nothng to select in 'options'. Have I missed something in the install?

Any help would be gratefully received.

This has some similarity with thread an error occurred during website creation (10840).

It is clearly due to a problem with the Report you had selected for Step 3 - Primary Page Type.

Does this particular Report still exist in V5?
Can you open it via Publish > ... Reports taking care to choose EXACTLY the one you had selected in V4.

At Step 3 - Primary Page Type can you choose any other Report?
Can you open any Reports via Publish > ... Reports?

What Is different between your V4 and V5 installation?
e.g. New PC, different Windows version, different installation options.

Is there anything non-standard about the installation?
e.g. Is FH NOT installed in the standard C:\Program Files drive & folder.

It is unlikely to be the cause, but you should upgrade from FH V5.0.7 to V5.0.9 via http://www.family-historian.co.uk/downl ... ee-upgrade.

There is nothing displayed in Step 3, and if I click on 'options' there is nothing to choose.
It's as if there are no 'reports' available, could this be something missing from the install?

Under 'Publish' no reports are available.

I 'upgraded' from V4 to V5 by purchasing the 'upgrade' disk and not the 'full' version.

Could this have had an affect?

How can I install the 'reports'?

You do NOT select Reports in Step 3 by clicking Options, which allows Report Options in the chosen Report to be altered.
You need to click on the small black triangle at the right of the Report Title box, but if no Publish > ... Reports are available then that won't work either.

The symptoms are just like the other thread an error occurred during website creation (10840).

Please can you give as much information as possible, and answer all the questions asked, otherwise it just prolongs the dialogue.

The Upgrade V4 to V5 is the same software as the Full V5 version, so that is not the problem.
The only difference is the cost and the way Licence Keys are entered.

If the Reports are listed in the Publish menu, but just won't open, then it looks like a file permissions problem, rather than they were not installed.
EXACTLY, what error message do you get when trying to use Publish > ... Reports ?

You can check this, assuming you are using Windows 8 / 7 / Vista, by checking the folders:
C:\ProgramData\Calico Pie\Family Historian\Reports\Standard and \Custom.

Which Windows version are you using ? ?
Has this changed between FH V4 with Reports working, and FH V5 with Reports NOT working ?

It would be a good idea to download FH V5.0.9 and install it over your existing installation.
But for the install use Run as administrator by right-clicking on the downloaded upgrade_fh5_to_5.0.9b.exe file and choosing that option.

If that does not fix the problem we may need to uninstall FH V5 and install it from scratch.
But do not attempt that without getting detailed instructions from here.

Please check View > Standard/Custom Diagram Types and View Standard/Custom Queries.
Also check Tools > Work with Fact Sets and Tools > Plugins and Internet > Search the Internet.
Tell me what you discover.

This may help to reveal the nature of the problem.
