Problems with Link to Face

Post by rfj1001 » 29 Oct 2013 17:53

On any diagram (eg ancestor), full images are displayed OK - but, there is no image if "link to face" has been used.

If I go the multimedia tab on a person record that uses link to face, the image that I expect is there; if I click the Edit option, the expected frame is there - and in the correct place. Clicking OK has no effect.

However, if I select the frame, delete it and then do another "link to face" then the image shows up as expected on the diagram.

It is something that has only happened recently and I'm not aware of doing anything to the pc or FH that should have caused this.

Has anyone got any ideas on how to get the missing images (other than individually to step through over 2000 multimedia records.

Many thanks

Firstly, could you please set your Family Historian version in your Profile, so we can answer appropriately.
Click on the Profile link in the General Usage Forum on the main Forums page.

It is not obvious what is causing that problem, but check the following settings.

Diagrams only show one of the possibly many Multimedia per Individual.
The particular one chosen is set by Preference on the Diagram Options > Pictures tab.
Using Installation Settings on this tab might help.

On the Multimedia tab the Preference number is shown in the Pref column.

So if the Diagram Options > Pictures > Preference is the default of 1, then the Multimedia image with Pref column set to 1 will be shown.
But simply editing the Frame should not affect any of the above, and does not change the Exclude from Diagrams setting.

Are you using any non-Default setting such as displaying picture within text?
