Good morning all. I have been playing about with 'Text Schemes. On trees that I have compiled where there are multiple marriages and divorce's ;the trees show Marr, Marr, Div, Div. Is it possible to change this to Marr, Div, Marr, Div? It is not important but I thought that I would ask.

Hello Ron,
Yes , it is possible, but not straight forward.
The scenario is related to multiple instances of Facts per person, and applies to any type of Fact, not just Marriage & Divorce.
e.g.
There will often be multiple Census Events or multiple Occupation Attributes in your data.

What you are requesting is for Facts to be listed in Diagram Boxes in the same chronological Date order as in Property Boxes on the Facts tab.

Currently Diagram Text Schemes list all instances of any one Fact together by using the special looping index [1+].
This has the advantage that the Fact only needs one Diagram Text Scheme entry to specify all instances.

The alternative is to create separate Diagram Text Scheme entries for each instance [1], [2], [3], et seq.
Not only is this more tedious, but you have to guess the maximum number or instances.
Should you cater for two Marriages & Divorces, or three, or four?

Also, if applied to Census Events you cannot predict how many instances should come before or after other Facts.

It is an area that FH could improved, and I would advise that in your case it is best avoided. Stick with the default Diagram Text Schemes provided.

Many thanks Mike, life does not get any easier does it? But then life would be less interesting. I will stick with what I have and be grateful. I shall have to readdress the problem when I get onto census returns.
