Property Box

Post by ruhane » 21 Sep 2013 14:52

Attached is a copy of the property box. This shows the toolbar under the fact window and the toolbar under the source window which are too narrow for the text etc. Also the source window is so small that you cannot make out what the source is. I have tried to re-size the toolbars but cannot find anything to do this. If I re-size the source pane I can make the source window big enough to read but the source pane is then too big.

Is there a way to change the default size for the source window to prevent it from becoming too small? Also can I change the toolbars so that the text and icons show properly?

Please, correct me if I am wrong, but it looks as if you have increased the size of your text/icon fonts from the defaults.
May be this has been done in Windows to make text easier to read.
You could also use FH Tools > Preferences > Property Box > Fonts .

Unfortunately, FH does not increase the space allocated to toolbars when the text size is increased.

Often the size of the panes in windows such as the Property Box are remembered by FH.
So once set they should remain much the same.

Have you tried using Tools > Preferences > Property Box and set Position of Source Pane to the Right instead of Bottom?

P.S.
Could you please open the User Control Panel (centre top), select Profile, and set your Family Historian Version at the bottom. This will help us be certain about which version you are using.

You can click on the more (between the two little arrows) to show more of the relevant pane.

You can also click and drag on the horizontal bar (with a row of little dots in the middle) to change the relative sizes of the panes.

Another option is to change the settings for the Property box to undock it or to show the Source Panel on the right rather than underneath.

Thank you all, as usual I want to do something that the software is not capable of! I will experiment with sizes etc to see if I can overcome the problem, but in the meantime docking the source pane to the right is the best option, Thank you.
