Is it possible to change the default colour theme of FH5 without having to edit each individual element manually? I am having difficulty with the weak colours of the default theme.

I don't think so, once you do have the colours as you want them, I recommend downloading and running Mike's Settings plugin to back them up so you have them safe for future use.
