I have difficulty reading the text in the event/attribute list (and other subwindows) and would like to make the text bold. Is there a way of doing this?

Yes, use Tools > Preferences > Property Box > Property Box Fonts and click Preferences > Focus Window > Fonts button.
Tools > Preferences > Query Window > Fonts button.
Publish > Reports > Options > Format tab.
Diagram > Options > Text > Edit > Initial Font and items.

Sorry, I thought you meant the Event/Attributes list in the Facts tab.
There is one other setting I forgot:
Tools > Preferences > Records Window > Font that affects some popup windows as well as the Records Window.
But not the Event/Attribute List window.
The only solution is to change the Windows default font via Control Panel > Display, but this will affect ALL windows in All programs, and sometimes causes text on buttons to become too large to fit.
One other option is to use the Windows Magnifier by clicking the Windows key and + key together.
THe full screen or Lens modes are quite effective.
