Exporting data from a query to CSV file

I'm trying to put source data from my FH gedcom file into a csv format file for import into GenQuiry.  The query Result Set truncates the Actual Text to around 154 characters.  Is this a deliberate limit, a result of the GEDCOM spec or a bug ?

The Result Set truncation is a deliberate limit.

The only workaround I can think of is to write a Plugin to export the required data in CSV file format.

[EDIT in 2016:
A workaround is given in how_to:display_long_text_like_notes|> Display long text such as Notes that also works for Text From Source (TEXT), etc.]

Useful to know. It will be a while before I can even think about writing a plugin to generate the required data I'm afraid, but I'll put it on the GenQuiry bug list.

I don't mind writing it, it's pretty simple, but how does MS Access want newlines, tabs commas quotation marks escaped in a CSV file. Alternately does it have an XML or similar import option.

Do you also want it to export Places etc?

Jane, thanks for offering. Access has an XML option which would be the best way to go from a plugin, I think, but I'll need to put a little thought into it. At the moment I use four queries to generate csv files for import, one each for People, Places, Sources and Repositories (and the Places one is pretty ropey as doesn't eliminate duplicates).

When you know what format you need give me a shout.

If you send me a template file for each record type, I should be able to easily populate it from FH.
