Sync Stand alone to Laptop.

Post by jsphillips » 17 Dec 2012 08:42

I have a Standalone computer on an internal WIFI network with my laptop.
When I enter new data onto Standalone FH I then have to enter this data again on my laptop.
Is there any way while both are showing in W iFi that the data can just be entered in one and the other automatically updated ?
Thanks
John

Dropbox is one possibility, which works well, but I believe there are alternatives which I've not used.

You can easily search for the several entries about Dropbox in FHUG.

Have a look at FHUG Downloads ~ Synchronise & Backup Tools.
Note that there are several other related free products, and that Windows Live Mesh is currently being phased out in favour of a revised Windows SkyDrive but with only 7GB instead of 25GB free storage.

I have been using Skydrive for about three months and am impressed with the ease of use.
Because I am saving a lot of non FH data I started to get close to the 7Gb free storage so I upgraded to 27Gb for just £6 per year, quite cheap really.
