Fact Count
In the Show project Statistics Plug In, the number of facts are totaled.
So I can assess what ancestors I need to work on, it would be useful if I could have a query that just counts facts for each ancestor. I guessed there may be a function =FactCount{} but it didn't work.
Any help would be most appreciated.

Fact Count
There is no built-in function that provides this at the moment. One for the Wish List perhaps?
Alternatively, it would be easy to implement it in a plugin if you could persuade someone to write it, or if you fancied writing it yourself. If you don't know how to write plugins but fancied giving it a go, click on Plugins on the Tools menu. Then on the Plugins window, click 'More' and then click 'How to Write Plugins'. There is a simple tutorial to get you started and links to all the additional info you need. There's even a sample plugin called 'Counting Surnames' which you could modify to count facts instead of surnames.

Fact Count
Rather than just a count of Facts, what might be more focussed is a Query that examines Birth, Marriage, Death, and possibly other Events.
e.g.
It could identify all Ancestors with criteria such as Event missing, or without Source citation, or without Multimedia.

Did this suggestion ever develop?

Re: Fact Count
Try the attached Plugin giving a simple Fact count per Individual including their Family Facts (Marr, Div, etc).

Sorry for the confusion! I should have quoted the message.tatewise wrote:Rather than just a count of Facts, what might be more focussed is a Query that examines Birth, Marriage, Death, and possibly other Events.

I meant this suggestion rather than a simple count.

Re: Fact Count
Not sure quite what details you wanted but attached is a simple evolution of the Plugin.
If you want more Facts listed then just edit the table of GEDCOM Tags near the start.

Re: Fact Count
I was interested in your suggestion that the search would not just produce a COUNT but would identify people who were missing data/sources etc. For example, to identify all persons who had not got a source for their birth/death etctatewise wrote:Not sure quite what details you wanted but attached is a simple evolution of the Plugin.

You are welcome to develop the Plugin in whatever direction you wish.
If you need advice on specific details then please ask.
