This may be a silly question, but is it possible to show the status of a Place in the Places Window? It seems very hidden and long winded to have to open the map, select the place in the Places window, then goto Map on the menu bar, then select Geocoding. Configure columns doesn't seem to give you the option to add Status.
I am aware you can see the status in the query Places, so why can't it be added to the Places window?

Yes, for some reason the Status field is not offered by the Data Reference Assistants and does not appear in the All tab of the Property Box.
However, the data reference you need is %_PLAC.STAT% as illustrated by the Places Query you mentioned on its Columns tab.
It shows nothing for Non-Tentative places.
Otherwise, it shows Tentative if marked as Tentative or No Auto-Geocode if Blocked (no auto-geocoding).
It might be possible to create an Expression that would show those or similar values, and show Non-Tentative otherwise.

Mike,
Many thanks, I have it included now. Strange it doesn't appear in the Data Reference Assistant.

Reported to Calico Pie and it has been passed on to the developers.

Re: Show Place Tentative Status
I've been cleaning up my places/geocoding. Is there a way to change the %_PLAC.STAT% from a query result or the place tab on the records box? Is the map window the only place this can happen?tatewise wrote: ↑14 Nov 2018 15:07 Yes, for some reason the Status field is not offered by the Data Reference Assistants and does not appear in the All tab of the Property Box.

Is there a way to show in the map window only a subset of the places I'm working with -- sorted in an order that I choose?

Re: Show Place Tentative Status
It is not possible to change the value of any field shown in any Query, apart from deleting values.
That is the definition of a Query. It is simply to query the database but not alter it.
Each Records Window tab is effectively the same as the All tab of the Property Box.
Since the Place Status is not visible via any of those views it cannot be manually changed.
So, yes, the Map Window is the only way to change the Status.
The way to work with a subset of Place records is to select them in the Places tab of the Records Window, or put them into a Named List and select them there.
It is also possible in the Map Window to use the Records... button and select Places from the Records list or a Named List.
The order can be set in a Named List and fixed by using right-click Keep Current List Order.
That order is then applied in the Map Window.
