Abbreviation of before/after

Post by OldManOfGammaGamma » 26 Oct 2020 11:51

Is it possible to stop Family Historian abbreviating "before" and "after" when it is used for dates of birth/death? I've looked in various options/preferences etc. but can't find anything that controls it. I particularly want it for a diagram I am planning to print out as a poster.

So I found the answer. I went to
Diagram Options
Text
Edit
Select used items
Birth
Marriage
Death
For each one
Edit
and change
.DATE:COMPACT
to
.DATE:LONG

I also changed Marr: to Married and Occup: to Occupation: in the same way.

In Diagram > Options > Text > Edit you could have set Date Format: at the top to Long to alter all Item Dates automatically.

BTW: I would advise using the Clone... button rather than Edit... the default installed Text Schemes.
That way if the cloned (custom) version does not work, you have the default as a reference version.
