Lesley, just a thought, but is your version of Acrobat Reader an old one? If its any earlier than 5.0, I would recommend upgrading it to 5.0, which you can do by following the usual installation instructions (see the ReadMe file, in the Family Historian section of the StartPrograms menu).

Printing the manual
Hi
I found the printing of the manual no trouble at all, but working my way through it much harder. As anyone else found it hard or is it me who's being thick.
Christine

Printing the manual
When I originally got ver 2.0 of FH, I printed the whole manual - lots of paper and time, although it was two sided.
I have just downloaded the version 2.1 manual - it seems very similar but is it worth printing again?

Probably best just to print out the new section for Reports if you want them.
I have never printed out the manual, so can not comment on the requirement to print it.

Printing the manual
I copied the .pdf file to a disk and took it to a local printer who produced a ring bound lay flat book for me.
I do not know what the cost might be as I put a fiver into the company tea-break refreshments box.
John.

Printing the manual
I have recently downloaded a program called FinePrint. It is a Windows printer driver that provides advanced printing capability.
Among its features are:
print 2, 4, or 8 pages on a single sheet
double sided printing,
booklets
plus a number of others.
In the context of printing a manual such as that for FH I have found that a booklet is perfectly readable in A5 size, and is convenient for storage.
The program costs $49.95 to register after downloading, but since the generic Windows XP driver for my Hewlett Packard has no double sided printing facility, I find that savings in ink and paper by printing smaller when suitable, and/or double sided, will help to pay for it.
It can be downloaded at http://www.fineprint.com, where details can be found.

Printing the manual
Being a new member to Family Historian I have been printing off the manual chapter by chapter and working through each chapter. The problem is whenever I want to print off parts of the manual my computer always puts me into Photo Elements 4 which is a bind as I have to download each page separately and they are not easy to read on screen. Is there any way of over coming this?

You sound like you have not got Acrobat reader installed or that for some reason Photoshop Elements has overridden its use.
What I would do is install Acrobat Reader again and hopefully it will take control of the PDF files again.
