FHUG - Newsletter 4

Hi All,
Firstly let me wish everyone a VERY belated Happy new year.
I know you thought I had given up, but I am still plodding away with the web site. There are several new queries in the Query Store, plus I have been adding any useful information from the mailing list to the article section.
I got my Christmas present of choice and am now the proud owner of the Dorset 1851 and 1891 Census indexes and the scanned version of the 1861 census. Things that have been keeping me busy include the tweeks to the GedFix programs to cope with a few more 'features' of other programs export routines.
I have been in contact with the author of PHPGedView and he has promised me a fix so that it will work with the media records in the GEDCOM file. Obviously it will not cope with the 'part' pictures FH uses, but it will be a step in the right direction.
I am currently working towards integrating the Query Store into the main site, so if you go to the old query store address and they have all gone, don't panic just go over to the FHUG main site and the Query Store link on the top left of the site will take you to the new location.
I am also working on a small program, which allows the export and import of text schemes for the diagrams. Currently they are stored in the registry and this makes it harder share them. When I have finished testing the program, I will add a link to the program from the main site.
Just a plea to everyone to come and join it at the forums, I seem to be the only one trying to answer questions, much of the time and this does not make for a lively chat. Perhaps once 2.1 is out things will liven up a bit.
If anyone has any areas with in Family historian, that they are struggling with please go in to the usage forum and leave a message there. I am hoping to do a couple of How to Articles/Animations and would like a 'straw' poll of the areas people would like covered.
I will be away for the first few weeks of March as I am off on my Holidays and will be unable to pick up mail or keep an eye on the site. So my apologies in advance if there are any problems.
