Merging two GEDCOM files

Post by philwarnorpkent » 19 Nov 2002 15:31

When merging two files, it is possible for Family Historian to crash. Whilst the GEDCOM in the two files is standard, Family Historian cannot cope and crashes, suggesting it may not have had enough memory. This message is spurious, incorrect, and not helpful. The workround until the problem is corrected, is to load each file in the merge one by one and save them with a different name

This also happens even if you merge one by one and usually you don't get the chance to save it. The first opened files is then at 1byte and all data is lost.
