Problem with Multiple Monitors
Posted: 06 Jan 2004 09:26
After closing Family Historian, while it is displayed on a secondary monitor means the program fails to display on subsequent loads. A temporary work around is to update one of the entries in the registry (thanks to Katherine Hopkins for the fix). As follows
Click the Start button, select Run, type Regedit, click OK, in the Registry Editor look under
HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareCalico PieFamily Historian2.0Preferences,
double click on Window Rect 0 near the bottom of the list on the right, change the value data to {0,0,0,0}, close the Registry Editor, start FH.
Alternatively I have added a download which links to a registry update file which has been tested on Windows 2000 and Windows XP and seems to work fine. Note this only fixes a broken FH and will not prevent the problem from happening.
