Version 3 - nbsp;Questions

Post by admin » 29 Mar 2006 09:27

With lots of people expecting V3 imminently, I have created a new forum for Version 3 questions, I realise there is much which has not changed between versions, but with the major changes in Text schemes and diagrams, I felt it would be easier to split off usage questions.

Version 3 - nbsp;Questions

Got Version 3 running within minutes of its arrival this morning (I am still in my dressing gown and it is afternoon!), I am now trying to create web pages without Living and Private individuals. I have set the flags via Edit and Record Flags, ticked both boxes in Privacy Options, but the individuals still show in my generated web pages.

Any thoughts

Otherwise I'm delighted with the day's mail

It worked o.k. for me.
You have to flag the relevant people first. I did this by downloading the WebClean query from the Query Store on this site, ran the query and then from the query menu icon, took 'Set Flag on result set records'
v.3 well worth waiting for, thank you.

This only occurs if you select for the Table of contents item a Root Person who is private, as long as you avoid starting your trees in the TOC with a private person this will not occur.

Old text schemes will be migrated, but to be honest if you want to start to use the newer features, you might find it easier to redo them.

There is so much more control with the new schemes what with the conditional lines font changes etc.

I suspect most people here upgraded.

Yes, I have used the upgrade and it ran very well. I have only spent a little while using V3 but I have been very impressed it has lived up to my hopes. A big advance on an already very good product, well done to Simon and thanks Jane for all your hard work with the FHUG.

Living abroad I had to be rather patient and my upgrade disk only arrived yesterday.
I have hardly left FH since then. The improvements are so much part of the program, I can hardly remember the features that were not available earlier.
The diagram improvements are most impressive. I am just getting down to the Web Page and CD outputs!

Hi. Just purchased a full V3 product and very pleased. One Question - I want to be able to create a diagram that shows ancestors and their siblings (without sibling spouses). Is this possible? If so, what's the easiest way please? Thought I managed to do this using the 2.3 demo but might be wrong? Thanks in advance.

Just turn off spouse boxes using the icon at the top or in the diagram options.

Hi. I'm trying to produce some 'Descendents of...' diagrams. I'd like the descendents in each generation to be shown in order of birth from left to right but this doesn't seem to be happening. Is there a way please? Thanks in advance.
