'We previously estimated that version 4 of Family Historian would be ready in February. We have had to revise our estimates and now expect it to be ready in March. We apologise for the delay.'


In addition he also mentioned one of the expert features. The new Fact Queries. This will allow you to query a fact type, so for example query all your census or residence facts, regardless of how many a single person has.

My birthday is 6th March - any chance V4 will be out by then?

Are there any screenshots of v4 family view page? I've been very impressed on the trial with the flexibility of the querying system but really really put off by the data entry system. I'd love to see how this has been upgraded in v4, if anyone has screenshots, or could persuade the authors to make some available.

The v4.0 release is imminent I understand this would mean that the basic look and feel of v4 is now set in stone and its only the testing and last minute bug fixing that is being worked on. Thus it should be possible to release some screenshots so we can have an idea of how it looks. Does anyone have the authors ear that they could get some sneak previews?

Any further update on when this will be available, ie Early or Late March??

There have been no more announcements at the moment, if I had to guess then I would expect late March.

We all love the programme and can't wait to get our hands on the new V4 !!
