I read the entire thread. I just misunderstood the overloaded terms. I think I got this now.
Question

Re: How to delete undefined data
Again, General Patton, "We are two peoples separated by a common language..." Just joking... Let me explain my process and you tell me what I have done wrong because I am sure I am not understanding something. I have gone through all my fields that said it was a UDF at this point, so I can...

Re: How to delete undefined data
I took that screen shot from the instructions. Sorry. I am running 6.2.7. Attached are the proper screen shots. Let me rephrase my question. The instructions see attached UDF.jpg file. So if I go into the facts Property box and convert the UDF field into a custom recognized field. Can I enable the t...

Re: How to delete undefined data
Is it safe to use the 2 checkbox approach (see attached image) to delete all UDF once you convert the UDF fields to recognized fields or if I do this does it delete all the data too.

Re: GEDCOM Exporting Data Does Not Contain Data Just Imported
Thanks. I saw that after taking more time to examine all the plugin. It worked out great. Now, I just need to figure out how to delete the UDF data. Outside the UDF SNAFU, the more I use FH the more I appreciate the data structure and workflow. I was really concerned about this at first, but it’s wi...

Re: How to delete undefined data
Yeah, so very strange. Sometimes when I convert the UDF fact it creates a fact as expected. Then when I delete the fact, the UDF field returns.
To delete the UDF field, I have to delete every instance. Then I can delete the field. Is that they expected behavior?

Re: How to delete undefined data
No I got that and it works on some fields, but others will just go back to being UDF after I delete it.

How to delete undefined data
Correct me if I am wrong but in the Fact Dialog Box, when you select events/attributes that are “undefined” it creates a new event/attribute but leaves the old fact. So after review my facts that were imported, I now want to delete that data one fact at a time.
How do I do this?

Re: GEDCOM Exporting Data Does Not Contain Data Just Imported
Fortunately, I just bought the product as I needed to see how it functioned with all features which includes plugins. So I will go back and try to export with the plugin mentioned above. As many know by now, I have been testing a variety of products and have narrowed my choices to RM and FH. Unfortu...

GEDCOM Exporting Data Does Not Contain Data Just Imported
I am still struggling to choose between FH and RM. I have managed to consolidate a lot data that I could not hope to do with RM 7.x. That said, I wanted to do a test export and import of my data into RM7.x. Much to my horror, I found that much of the work I did complete using FH is negated by the fa...

Re: Help Understanding Sources in FH
I wouldn’t install RM with hopes of great reports. Whereas FM has pretty nice reports minus the entire bibliography and citations. RM reports are very old looking but they do an excellent job with source and source lists. RM also as a sister app called Historian that helps you write the story. I hav...

Re: Help Understanding Sources in FH
ColeValleyGirl, thanks for the correction as it is multi-layered citations. As for proving the necessity, I think the author of Evidence Explained has done that thoroughly already. You either agree or not with her. As for data size in citations, I don't mind that as long as it is pertinent.

Re: Help Understanding Sources in FH
I might add that part of the problem in FH is this entire concept of "lumper" and "splitter." This drives the strategies used to assign evidence of a fact. Yes, "splitting" and "lumping" exist in Evidence Explained, ie. U.S. Census Records. In the U.S., we typ...

Re: Help Understanding Sources in FH
This is a great conversation and I seriously appreciate those that participated. I must admit though that I find myself shocked that FH (and many other genealogy apps) fail to be able to capture the necessary data to present a bibliography (Source list), and citations (First and Subsequent). In fact...

Re: Help Understanding Sources in FH
Ok, so I watched the video and add sources and citations seems pretty easy using the automatic feature, BUT .. I still don’t have a good answer to where should Put my source and citation data. Moreover, when using default reports does FH just publish a bibliography or is it a citation. The two are d...

Help Understanding Sources in FH
General Patton one said, “we are two peoples separated by a common language.” So I have been reading the wiki and this board trying to understand how best to implement and convert my existing sources and citations to best be rendered into reports and books. So I will ask a few questions in hopes of ...

Fact Change: Event to Attribute
Hi,
Is there a Plugin for attributes that moves the Address to the Attribute Name and leaves the Place and Date Data intact?
I ask because when I run the plugin to change events the attribute name is the "Adresss, Place."
Thanks

Opinion: Noble Monikers Best Practices
I was just curious what might be considered best practices for this situation. Take this person for example: Maud of Lancaster (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maud_of_Lancaster,_Countess_of_Ulster) **Assuming Wikipedia is correct** Name: Matilda Plantagenet Born: c. 1310 Died: 5 May 1377, Bruisyard A...

Double Dates Format Quoted & Not Recognized?
In my old app dates could be specified as 12 Feb 1798/9 FH imported these in quotes “12 Feb 1798/8” so they don’t display in most property boxes. 1. Is there a plug-in that will fix this? 2. If not, what would be the desired way to correct this problem? I was thinking if I manually had to fix this, ...
