A couple of things to try.
Go to the Diagram options dimensions page and hit installation settings.
Also try adjusting the number of generations from each ancestor.

Descendant Outline Problem
I think this problem has already been reported. If you select one of the other numbering schemes it should be OK. I believe Calico are intending to issue a patch for 2.3 to fix the problem, but I do not know any time scales. You may be able to fix the spacing problem by going in to options and selec...

If you are talking about merging sources you could use the merge record option on the edit menu. Also you can build a list of all the records using a source by selecting record links from the view menu and using the options icon at the bottom left to save the links as a list. To see the number of ci...

Ages that differ on sources
The exclaimation is just to highlight the discepancy in the birth to marriage age. FH does not stop you putting in the information simply warns you of the problem.
I would be tempted if possible to view the original church record to see if the problem with the age is a simple transcription one.

Adding back a lost person
After making a new backup, you could merge the old file with the new one, just make sure the data being kept is the most recent. Another posibility is to restore the old file to a new location then delete all data other than the 'lost' person merge the data to the current file and relink to the corr...

Merging 2 GEDCOMs/giving credit to other person
When you do the merge you are given the option to add a source to every person/event added to your gedcom file. This means any people added can have a source of Mr. Dutch for example. What I then do is add a repository record for the person who provided the data containing Name, address and contact ...

Although FH can maintain and report multiple parents, to my knowledge you can not directly show all the parents at the same time on diagrams. However by swaping the sequence of families on the all tab or records window you can control which family are shown on the all relatives diagram. I believe wh...

FH is a windows only product, but I believe it may run in the PC emulation software for the Mac. (I am afraid I do not know much about Mac's myself). I have updated the link to the new domain name so it should work now.
Does the Mac user have reunion or similar software?
If not you may be best to create a narative report and save it as a word document. If they have reunion or other family history software sending a GEDCOM file should be fine

Are you on 2.3 of FH on your old machine. The 2.3 update moved things around.
If you confirm the versions, I can give you details. Some of the data is in the registry and some in the application data area on 2.3

FH does not do so itself, but you can download reg-privita and working on a copy of your gedcom file you can use the functions in reg prvita to strip all the data from living persons.
There is a link in the links / gedcom section to the program which is free.

With FH any person can have as many names with separate sources and notes.
So I would suggest adding a second name with a note detailing the change. In addition you could add a custom event showing the date when the name changed.

No promises, but try.
Go into Tools, preferences and select

Delete Files
this should clear your internet cache also click on settings an ensure the cache size is no more than 10Mb, windows sometimes sets this far to large.

I have checked both the files and they are fine on the server.
I suspect your windows PC timed out during the download.
If you still have the install programs you downloaded on your other computer you can put those on CD and use them. I would not recommend copying the already installed programs.

A family is a family record, ie any persons grouped as family as spouse or by family as child. So a mother and child are a family as are two childen with unknown parents. Any reason you can not do a surname search?
The 1881 is online with free access or is it just you can not find the people you want on the family search index?

This was a design decision by Calico and has been discussed a couple of times before. There is a wish list item to be able to show step families on the same line. In addition as you can add people to more than on Parent family, I believe some people have added the Step family to the 'main' family gr...

You can do the Queries in FH and the save the results as CSV files, which you can load in to tables in frontpage.
If you need help producing the queries let me know the order and I will make the queries for you.

I can not think of an easy way at the moment. Are your addresses against Census events or residence events, or lots of different events and attributes?
There is a wish list item to be able to query events, but I am afraid it's not yet been actioned.[frown]

I think your idea of lists are called Querys in Family historian. There are many Queries in the Query Store here on the site which other users have contributed to allow new users to use them with out learning how to do queries. Queries give the data sort options you are looking for. In the how to se...
