Mike,

I'm not sure what you mean. I'm able to enter dates in the format DD MMM YYYY.

Re: Recognise DD-MMM-YYYY as date

Are you wanting FH to understand mm-dd-yyyy with the dashes? If the dashes don't matter, in Tools > Preferences > General you can select your preferred date format. One of the options is dd mmm yyyy. Would this work for you? Just leave out the dashes. If you need the dashes then I don't believe FH c...

Re: Ancestral Sources v7.8.4 Beta Testing (November 2023)

I'm not sure if this matters, but I don't necessarily want the auto capitalization in all fields. I like to enter it in AS as it was actually entered onto the census form by the enumerator. At least here in the U.S. , especially in censuses taken in the1800's, enumerators sometimes used all lower ca...

Re: For discussion: Wish List guidance and rules

I can - I just don't work like that. I always logon to FHUG every day (well, Christmas Day aside) and my link takes me straight to the list of unread topics. So I really don't want notifications, especially appearing at odd times of the day, and would mutter if I had to switch any default notificat...

Re: For discussion: Wish List guidance and rules

Bill, are you not happy to be opted into a discussion notification when you choose to comment on that discussion? No. If I want to get a notification then I opt-in. I have often made a comment on FHUG and don't really care to continue following the topic. The need to opt-out for so many things in t...

Re: For discussion: Wish List guidance and rules

I hate being automatically opted into anything. If I want to be involved, I should have to opt in. There are way too many places where I get opted in automatically, even though I don't want to be.

Re: Fixed: Pink Metrolike colour scheme.

Update by ColeValleyGirl: The default theme is now Metrolike Blue, and all Metrolike users have been switched to this option; the Home Page will be updated to match. A wider range of colours is available to select when you edit your user profile. Thanks for the quick fix Helen and Jane. Bill

Re: Date range on property box facts tab

Fair enough Bill, I picked a bad example. My comment on resizable columns stands though, making it irrelevant how much text is on show. So, IMO all facts should have full dates as entered for consistency. IE 3 Mar 1926 Mar 1926 1926 1925-1926 are all relevant and should be consistently shown, as en...

The key is to find the name of their ship, often shown on military records or the CWGC website.
For me the dead individuals were not from the UK and were not in the military.

That works if you know where at sea they died. I have several where I have no idea at all. Only that they were at seas.

Re: column widths in focus window

There is not any way to adjust the columns on the focus window.

The space after the death date column is for images of the children and the relationship of the child to the parents.

One way to allow more to show is to make the window wider.

Sorry. I originally read right over when you said "and open apps". My mistake.

My intent was really only to show that there was a way to find WebView2 without doing a search.
