Re: Draft reply lost on Preview
Unfortunately, we use the standard PHPBB so unless the developers of PHPBB can fix the problem, there is not much I can do. I can only suggest using the Remember me option so you are safely logged in BEFORE posting.

Re: How can I delete empty birth and death facts
Actually the most common reason for large numbers of empty fields is when importing from other programs.

Re: Record Death Data (UK) does not pull SEX for existing record
It won't actually update or do anything as you can not change the Sex of an existing person from the plugin.
So it does not stop you using the plugin as far as I can see. Do you get an error if you continue?

Re: Knowledge Base 404 Not Found
Yes, I suspect you added the line to hosts, when testing the new server when we moved last time and forgot to remove it afterwards. Nothing on standard windows writes into that file and you normally need Admin rights to do so. If anyone is interested there is a good article on the subject here https...

One possible cause is your Laptop is either running Windows 7 which is not supported for Family Historian 7, or Windows 8 without all the last Windows updates. If you raise the issue, remember to include the Windows Version and service pack you have installed and the EXACT error message you are rece...

Re: Knowledge Base 404 Not Found
The server was upgraded on the 16th September. One possibility is you have an entry for the old IP in your local host table on the PC or the router, from when we moved last time. Try checking the hosts in the etc folder in Windows. Krystal may have had some helper code forcing you over to the new se...

Re: Knowledge Base 404 Not Found
Some how your computer or ISP has picked up the old server IP.
Try clearing you local DNS cache in Windows and your router to fix it. Doing a WHO.IS for the domain shows both are set to 77.72.2.82

The links work fine both ways, it does look like an issue with the DNS look up for the fhug.org.uk variant.
Mike please confirm the values you are getting for the two pings.

I am not seeing any errors with any of the links you posted.
If you ping www.fhug.org.uk and fhug.org.uk do you get the same ip for both?
It should be 77.72.2.82

Re: Thumbnail Update
Just go to Tools>Preferences and Advanced from the General tab and set it to Load as needed, then close your Project and reopen and change the setting back.
If that does not do it you can manually delete the thumbnail cache from the project, do not delete the other caches.

Re: Add religion to baptism fact
You can either add a labelled text field in the note and include that in your sentence template, or simply add a Religion attribute to provide an additional sentence, or just customise the sentence on the event when you want to include the religion in the sentence.

Re: I cannot define footnotes in narrative reports at the bottom of the pages
There is no end of each page option, the option I suspect you have is end of record on same page, this is not the end of each page. In practice this means you get sources at the end of each individual summary, but if you are using combining reports like Ancestors by generation the sources will be at...

This is normally caused by a 3rd party program trying to copy or sync the file FH is writing. Try disabling syncing for what ever software you use and try the save again.

They are UDF Uncategorised Data Fields. They normally occur when importing from other programs.

Re: Important: Forum update
I have adjusted the popping in and out so it only happens if you hover over a link for 1 second or so. The advantage with the full search is it includes results from the Forums and Knowledge base and not just the forums. If you want to use the forum only search just use the Advanced search.

Re: Important: Forum update
The default search at the top of the forum now uses the algolia search.
Clicking on the "Advanced search" link will search with the built in forum search.
Using the in forum search under the blue bar also uses the forum search only.
This is the same as before the upgrade.
