Deleted Custom Source Template
I did a really Dumb thing! And I don't even remember doing it, but the evidence is there. I had two custom Source Templates that were very similar to each other. I brought both into my Project and started to use one of them. Then I did the Dumb thing. I deleting the wrong template in my Source Templ...

MyHeritage Web Hints not Working
If I have both MH and FMP enabled, it shows a blue icon, and when hovering over the icon, it shows the FMP hint and a notice "MyHeritage Searching..." If I only have MH selected to enable Web Hints, then the small round icon is grey with a small clock shown, which will disappear after a while. (see ...

The wise owl comes through again!
Thank you Mike!
Now, in layman's terms, why did this happen? And not just to me, but to you also??

Re: Source Records Window, Chronological Date Sorting
I created a support ticket stating the facts as per the conversation in this thread; asking for confirmation of the problem, and that they please consider fixing the problem now, or at least in the next release version.
I'll post what I find out.

Re: Source Records Window, Chronological Date Sorting
Thank you Bill.
I will fill out the necessary report. Since this is my first time reporting something to CP, would it be a good idea, Mike, if you would also make a much more informed report of the problem?

Re: Source Records Window, Chronological Date Sorting
Is this a new problem with FH7, or has this been an omission since FH's inception? It's hard to believe I am the first to run into this, but I did search everywhere and did not come up with any discussions of references.
What is the process to report problems to FH?

Re: Source Records Window, Chronological Date Sorting
I could swear that I saw somewhere something about sorting dates - No, wait... It was a way to turn the date field so it would read for e.g. 1884/08/23, or something like that. Or maybe it was somebody wishing it would be that way?? I would think this would be an important option! Oh well, I appreci...

Re: Source Records Window, Chronological Date Sorting
Thank you Gowermick! If I sort using the Column Header and with the dates in their "normal" format, they do not sort by chronological date because they are listed, for example, as April 19, 1895, which will sort by the Month, Day, Year. I would like them to sort by Year, Month, day, so they are list...

Re: Census Witness
Perfect! Thank You. That solves my thinking of whether or not to use the Witness feature for census records. There is no sense in using the Witness feature in this situation if I use the Text from Source box as you suggest. Also, it gives the actual wording of the census for a true interpretation! T...

Census Witness
Is there a down-side to using the witness feature in FH with a census created in AS using method 1? I know it is not necessary, since the persons are already linked via the source, but it seems an easy way to see who else is in a particular census. For instance; if I see that Johnny Peeps has a 1930...

Re: Reversing a Place Name
For those new to updating the Title after making changes to the Source Template Record (see below) - you have to tap the Cog button twice in order for the change to take effect. First you must remove the Autogenerate Record Title check mark. You then need to add the check mark back for the changes t...

Re: Reversing a Place Name
I got it working by realising my mistake and swapping out Location with Jurisdiction after making the screenshot, and then I realised the title I was looking at had been manually adjusted and was not showing the revised title properly. Thanks for the even neater way of displaying this. I now have a ...

Thanks, I guess I never noticed that cog wheel. Sorry Guys, but I'm still struggling. I am using {Jurisdiction} for {Place}, as shown below. I've tried inserting {JURISDICTION} into the function, but that didn't work and I suspect I may need to swap my {Jurisdiction} with {place}, or can I change th...

Re: Reversing a Place Name
The reversal and USA omission will only be used in the Source Record field as shown below.
I should also add that some of the records will be originating from AS - but that shouldn't make a difference, I don't think.

Reversing a Place Name
I am trying to reverse how a Place name appears in the Source Records field. I have "Grand Rapids, Kent, MI, USA" I would like the USA to not show, and the order to be reversed, such as: "MI, Kent, Grand Rapids". I found a reference to a Qualifier in one in the forums called TextPart that may assist...

Census Tab for USA - Modified from neil40's UK Census
I recently saw neil40's "Census UK Tab - my take" entry and downloaded his template and modified it for the United States. I made two versions of it. One is from 1790 to 1950 and the other is from 1950 to 1790. I will use the latter since most my research in the USA is after 1880 and this puts the p...
