Thank you Mark and Mike,
I know there are a couple of templates and some plugins I will want to continue using, but nothing I can’t recreate or download into my “clean master set up”.
Thanks again for all the help and guidance you both provide in the FHUG.
Curt

Preparing for import from RootsMagic
I am ready to make the jump from RM8 to FH7. Over the the past couple of months I have imported a couple of different files to “play” with FH7 getting comfortable with the features and make sure I understand the differences between RM8 & FH7. During this time I have created source templates, downloa...

Re: Template Formats question
Not sure if this is the correct thread for this question. I am trying to format the footnote and bibliography for custom source/citations fields and would like some help with field code qualifiers for "place' type fields. I have search the FH Help, FHUG KB and done several searched of this forum, bu...

Re: Import of RM7 Citations
There were a couple of other threads dealing with EE and the Advanced collections around this same issue. Didn’t know if the info should be posted there as well. Would be happy to supply my RM GEDCOM file for testing, if it would help.

Re: Import of RM7 Citations
I wanted to provide the feedback/response from CP tech support on the ticket I submitted last week. The ticked raised two issues. The information in quotes under item 1 is taken directly from CP’s response to me. The information under item 2 is my summary of communication back and forth with CP and ...

Re: Import of RM7 Citations
I have decided the transition to FH7 is a much larger task/effort than I have the time to commit to at this point. After way too many hours spent in frustration and failing to successfully create even simple plugins, (or simple queries for that matter), and coming to grips with the fact that this wa...

Re: Import of RM7 Citations
Agree - the main thing I have learned through this transition, is that the lumping-splitting decision is driven as much, if not more, on the database file structure than it is on any desired methodology and that I will need to employ a much higher level of splitting going forward. I have been playin...

Re: Import of RM7 Citations
Potential bigger problem - I was going through each of my RM Source Records to get a feel of how many FH Source Records would be needed based on the lumping limitation of the FH file structure (as if I was starting from scratch in FH and forgetting about the whole digital image format issue for the ...

Re: Import of RM7 Citations
The issue with the importation of the Source record for EE style citations of online digital images led me to review my RM Master Source list to see if there were other instances of citation level metafields in the Bibliography formats. Short answer is yes. See my post in FH7 : Using Evidence Explai...

Re: FH7 : Using Evidence Explained Style
I was also struggling with the lumping/splitting differences between RM and FH and the ability to use Evidence Explained Style. Fortunately (or unfortunately) I picked an a layered citation for an online image record to compare the differences between RM and FH. Other issues with importing and the t...

Re: Bibliography Citation-specific Metafields
Although I have spent some time messing with data entry to get a feel for the user interface, most of my time in the past month has been focused on issues regarding the transfer from RM. So I decided to look at how I might approach source/citations going forward. Per the KB, the Advanced collection ...

Re: Bibliography Citation-specific Metafields
Great discussion and it has certainly expanded way beyond my "issue" with specific templates dealing with a specific type of record - online images of local jurisdictional records. Below is an image from an EE quick check model for an online image with the website and year in the bibliography. EE pa...

Re: Import of RM7 Citations
The plug-in needs to bring all fields over. I can’t think of any citation level meta fields that would not be needed for the Footnotes. The issue in my case is my decision to follow EE methodology, see import of RM7 Citations (19266) and only involves the templates for citing digital images. This ma...

Sometimes the value is a copy of the GEDCOM value, but for such as FOOTNOTE and BIBLIO the [brackets] must be {changed}.
Does this mean the plugin would need to change the [ ] to { } or I would need to do this manually after the FH template was created?

Re: Import of RM7 Citations
Da - A light bulb moment !!!
The whole goal here is not to "re-import" portions of the GEDCOM file differently, its to "re-arrange" the information already imported by FH7. Hence the reason for trying to understand what got imported and where.
Thanks

Here a portion of the Ged file for the source shown in my previous post. Not sure if this helps, (or complicates things), but it contains additional info. ABBR = the title of the the Source in RM (this is imported to the Short title field in FH7) TITL = the text string portion of the Footnote, less ...
