Re: Query: count of multiple name occurances
It's also possible to include columns for Given Name Used (%INDI.NAME[1]._USED%) and Nickname (%INDI.NAME[1].NICK%) if you want to see other alternative names for people.

Re: Internet matches for alternate names
I'm guessing an optional looped call to the api with the different names and collation of the results into one page for the user to view.

Internet matches for alternate names
Hi, It seems to me that Internet Matches only pick up the first name you have for someone, not any alternative names you may have entered for them - eg only searches for William Allinson, not his 'alternatives' that I've added of William Allanson and William Allerson. Am I right? And if so, is it po...

Query: count of multiple name occurances
Hi, I want to do a query to show a) who's got more than one name entry, and b) how many Name entries that person has (some of them are legitimate, some are mistakes). How do I do this, please? I know the filter goes in the Rows tab, and the count in the Columns tab, but I don't know what the syntax ...

Re: FH & My Heritage vs FindMyPast
Thanks everyone, that's really useful. I'll stick with just FMP for now.
And thanks Mike, I hadn't twigged there was a research forum, that's useful

FH & My Heritage vs FindMyPast
Hi,
I already have a subscription for FindMyPast (FMP) and use it in FH 7 for the automated internet matching.
What I'm wondering, is it worth me getting a My Heritage data subscription too? Will it find matches that FMP hasn't got?
Many thanks,
Isabel

Named List in a Query
fH7 Hi, I'm going slowly bonkers here...I've been adapting the "Alive in 1901" query to use for the 1921 census. I've added a column to show their age in 1921, and I've added a way to choose a named list as input. Weirdly, despite saving the query, it's including people who aren't in the named list ...

Hi,
pardon my ignorance, but how, then, do you do a Rich Text Individual Link? I've tried searching but haven't found the method.
Many thanks,
Isabel

Re: Website Tree Diagrams with Hyperlinks
As ACProctor said, " "html, css and js only" would mean no SVG" for many of us mere mortals who can't fork out for business subscriptions or run our own webservers. My understanding, once generated SVG-FTG does not need anything more that a web page host, to hold the files, the magic is done by the...

Re: Website Tree Diagrams with Hyperlinks
As a user I definitely agree that vertical trees are best - especially if they're wide (eg 13 children), especially if you're sharing your trees with family. I've been stumped by the fact that free wordpress doesn't enable scripting or plugins :-( as I can't afford to pay for the full version. I'd l...

Re: Adding hyperlinks to pdf family tree charts
Martin - go you! :-) I'm also wanting to do my own site, tho using free Wordpress, so no plugins available :-( . It's been driving me nuts trying to find a suitable tree diagram for a website, I've looked at all sorts of tools too. I'd wondered about a hotspot tree image but was wincing at the amoun...

FH7: query multimedia items linked to an individual, with media name filter
Hi, Before I had half an idea about using source citations I'd attached multimedia items to the individuals - eg census images etc. I'm now wanting to find out ones I linked to Individuals, (which you can do via the Media Window - Media list: all individual media), but I also want to, say, just view...

I had tried previously removing the quotes but that didn't work. I had to change the operator as well...
The solution is this:
Condition: Add if...
Expression: =FactLabel(%FACT%)
Operator: begins with
Value: Other Event
thanks for the heads-up on the All Facts Filter by Label download
