Re: Problem with Change Any Fact plugin

Thank you for the additional information. I'll definitely consider using a shared Census fact rather than a shared Census (family) fact. And I've made no decisions about Family Residence, but I'll probably do the same for it.

Re: Problem with Change Any Fact plugin

Individual Census Reports do display Private Census Events if its Report > Options > Privacy tab unticks Hide all private facts. I never even noticed the options. I keep learning. It is possible to use the File > Import/Export > Export > GEDCOM File... command and exclude all Private Facts before u...

Re: Problem with Change Any Fact plugin

I appreciate the thought you have put into this, but may be confused. I wonder if you intend to do that for EVERY household, I plan to start with ancestors and their children. If time permits I might do more. One method is to add a descriptive Note directly to the Census Events Adding a descriptive ...

Re: Problem with Change Any Fact plugin

I presume John Cardinal's ORA expects to use standard Census Events just like AS, so poses the same constraint. ORA can be configured for any setup desired. You create templates to tell it what to do. I mainly use it to pull in source data, but it can also be set up to input fact information. Both ...

Re: Problem with Change Any Fact plugin

Here is my thought process, and if it's not a good idea, let me know. I know it's not advised, but I like shared census facts. And census (family) for that matter. However, that leads to the problem that Look up Missing Census facts and Individual Census report does not work. I am hoping for the bes...

Problem with Change Any Fact plugin

I am trying to change from the standard Census tag to one I created called Census (individual). It keeps throwing up warnings until I end up Ctrl-Alt-Del out rather than clicking Close Warning forever. I have ran Validate and it says no errors found. It does one individual then I get: Screenshot 202...

Re: Import of RM7 Citations

I ran all the database tools as soon as this came up. I've also run the database tools in Tom Holden's RMTrix which will sometimes catch things that RM misses. RM7 automatically syncs the source template with the sources/citations as soon as you change them. I used SQL Lite to examine (a copy of) th...

Re: Import of RM7 Citations

I have an appointment in a bit. When I get back would it help if I make a bigger gedcom and strip out the living? And then email it to you in case I miss something. For both #6 and #72 the fields are defined the same way. #72 In FH: <{Subject}, ><{Title}, ><{CreationDate}, |undated clipping, ><from ...

Re: Import of RM7 Citations

After I captured the message I totally forgot to keep running it. The good news is it finished with the Gedcom with only Raymond. However, when I ran it on the full gedcom I got the following:

Re: Import of RM7 Citations

It still crashes, with the error below. I may have noticed something else though. Let me make sure it has something to do with this. It involves 2 sources made from the !Ancestry Basic Images Template, name very similarly, and one source has the credit line filled, the other does not. It shouldn't m...

Re: Import of RM7 Citations

Wanted to give you what I have so far, but I'm continuing to look at a copy of my RM database. I've played around with SQL Lite and am going to look at the tables and see if I see anything odd. I've also tried greatly simplifying that template and so far haven't found anything that helped. I also tr...

Re: Import of RM7 Citations

do a very selective GEDCOM export from your RM database
I narrowed it down to one person who will generate the error. I played around a bit to see if I could isolate the cause, Looked at all his sources in RM, ran all the database tools, etc. So here is his gedcom. Hope it helps.

Re: Import of RM7 Citations

Actually, it's not going to help. I thought I had the ran the plugin against the new gedcom, but I didn't. I did it again, with the gedcom I sent, and it runs the whole way through. I should have some time this afternoon to make a Gedcom with no living and see if that one errors out.

Done and attached. These people are long gone. I did replace my personal info in the header with fake info. I ran it with the plugin and it does the same thing. Hope it helps.

Re: Import of RM7 Citations

Which built-in sources do you use please, so I can try to replicate your sources as closely as possible? I don't think this will help much. Re: Import of RM7 Citations

Thanks for looking. As far as me personally, I almost never use the standard templates, so I'm happy with it just bringing in the custom templates. But if you are going to publish it in the store, others may make much more use of the standard templates.
