Re: Move data from one field to another in same fact
Hate to be so simplistic but, out of curiosity, why not use the standard 'btw 1950 and 1953' which isn't a date phrase so produces 'was born between 1950 and 1953' Mervyn I select the birth date I think is best for the birth fact. I have some where the possible alternate births might be 1950, 1953,...

Thank you Jane. I'll work on that. I'm still struggling figuring out data references, but making progress and appreciate the help.

Re: Source templates and capitalization
I wonder if you entered Database and Images in Title case (Capitalization means entirely in CAPITALS) which would be correct for Bibliography, you could then use the =ToLower(...) function in the Footnote, but I have not tried that. Thanks Mike. That worked. {=ToLower(%SOUR._FIELD[2]%)} Jackie

Source templates and capitalization
I'm creating source templates. I have a field called {Type} that is input as database and images. This works fine in my footnote. But in my Bibliography I would like it to say Database and images. Capitalized. A similar issue, if the Author is put in as John Doe, it's fine in the footnote. But in th...

Move data from one field to another in same fact
Is there a plugin or query that will let me move the data in one field to a different one within the same fact? I have an Alternate birth fact: {individual} may also have been born {value}< {date}>< {place}. Sometimes I want an actual date, but sometimes I want a phrase such as 'in 1950, 1951 or 195...

Re: Rootsmagic->Family Historian
In general, my import from RM didn't go too badly. But almost every fact and source I use is custom, so I have a lot of work to do. Facts won't take an enormous about of time as I've gotten pretty decent at writing sentences in FH7. I'm debating about my sources. They were templated in RM and I love...

Re: Rootsmagic->Family Historian
Tom recently talked about it and it sounds like many queries are not going to work. I assumed she was using RM7, but assuming is rarely a good thing to do.

Re: Rootsmagic->Family Historian
I'd already been gradually converting my Res (fam) facts to regular Res facts, but will make sure to do so completely before I do the conversion. I remember when I converted from TMG to RM that the time spent in TMG cleaning things up with an eye towards the RM import process was time very well spe...

Rootsmagic->Family Historian
I know there are at least two of us moving from Rootsmagic to Family Historian. I thought I would start this thread to make it easier to communicate about those types of problems. Perhaps we can help each other. And of course, if any other forum member wants to jump in with comments, that would be g...

Find Duplicate Citations question
I brought my database in from Rootsmagic where I used custom templated sources. Not surprisingly they came in with Title, Short Title and Where Within. Gradually I want to get them into FH7 templates. When I run Find Duplicate Citations, there are a lot of them. The ones I've investigated are all be...

Re: Brother/Sister in a Role Fact Sentence
Yes. One role that selects the word brother or sister depending on the sex. It's an obituary fact and I already have a bunch of relationships. I'd rather do one more complicated role than two separate ones just because of how long the role list is getting.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Brother/Sister in a Role Fact Sentence
I'm using this as a role for a sibling in an obit. {individual} was mentioned as a sibling of {principal} in {=TextIf(%CUR_PRIN.SEX%="MALE", "his", "her")} obituary< printed in the {value}> Is there a reference or function that will let me replace sibling with brother/sister? I've been looking but h...

Re: 2 Source Template definition questions, FH7
I do like Compare/Sync. I wonder if my "space semi-colon" problem is a bug. As a test, I made a clone of Documents: Digitized from the Advanced templates. The only change I made was the addition of angle brackets as shown below. Still have the space problem. And looking in EE, there shouldn't be a s...

Yes, that is the space that bothers me.LornaCraig wrote: ↑28 Dec 2020 11:35Helen, I think the OP is saying there is an extra space after the date but before the semicolon, as in "3 May 1986 ; Jackie resided with". That does seem wrong.

2 Source Template definition questions, FH7
I'm using FH7 coming from RootsMagic. 1. My source template definition is: Personal knowledge of {Person}, {Location}, {Date}<; {Comment}>. There is no space between {Date} and <; {Comment)>. Yet in the citation there is a space after 1986 and the semicolon: 3 May 1986 ; Jackie resided with Am confu...

Re: Change Any Fact Tag plug-in
I'm really new to FH but almost positive I have the same problem. And it was an import from RootsMagic. FH7 Property box default tab
I've looked but can't find anything. When I open the property box (FH7, Win10) I would like the default tab to be the Facts tab. I work much more there, than the main tab. Is that possible? I haven't found anything, but there is a lot to learn.
Thanks,
Jackie

How to change username
I've searched quite a bit. How do I change my forum username? I inadvertently made it the same as my email address, and I'd prefer it be something else. AS7 Custom templates
I am new to both FH and AS, but fairly advanced with software and genealogy software. I am using a project with names only. I cloned an Advance Source (Vital Record) and renamed it in FH7. I brought it into my FH7 project. It shows In Use in FH7. However, it appears I can't bring it into AS7. I can ...
