Re: PROP {PROPERTY} fact not included in standard set
Hi Nick
Yes, I did mean 5.5.1. If I change the "label" or "abbreviation" in the Fact Definition, that won't affect a GEDCOM file will it?

PROP {PROPERTY} fact not included in standard set
It was my understanding that FH 7 conforms to the GEDCOM 5.1 standard, but I cannot find the PROP {PROPERTY} fact in the fact set. There may be others, that's just the one in noticed. If I add it as a custom fact, will it be included in the GEDCOM file as a standard fact? Can someone indulge my igno...

Re: Focus Window items
You're correct in that turning off notes removes that particular fact, but I double-checked and I do not have the township included in the citation. I'm perfectly happy with the fact being there, I was just curious how FH knew the township associated with that census.

Focus Window items
I have read other posts about the focus window items, but did not find an answer to my question. In the attached image you'll notice that the 1880 census is listed under the birth information. I understand that since I have no death information for this individual, FH picks out another fact. My ques...

Re: Source citation expansion [+] button
Mike, you were exactly right! I have a list of UDFs a mile long! But, a simple deletion of the particular UDF for the source in question fixed it. Well, actually, nothing was wrong. It just bothered me that it was there. On a related note, your Lumped Source Splitter plugin has been invaluable. I si...

Re: Source citation expansion [+] button
Mike, thank you so much for the reply. You are correct in all your assumptions. And that makes perfect sense that it would have happened on import from FTM. I will work on those UDFs later today and report back. Allen.

Source citation expansion [+] button
I'm sure I'm not using the correct terms in the subject line, but I don't understand what I'm seeing. I understand, having come from FTM, that my generic sources have this button associated with them. And I understand what those are telling me. But as you can see from the screenshots below, these so...

Re: Overwide Census tables in a Booklet
Adrian, brilliant!! It took me little while to accomplish this, but I got it done. I'm not even sure I'll use it, but it is a way to get that table into a narrative, for instance. Thanks so much, Allen.

Re: I can't get started
DJY, I've read your post several times and it's all beginning to slowly sink in. I came from FTM and have really struggled with FH's source-citation approach. For example, I have a lot of marriages on a FamilySearch database called "Oklahoma, County Marriages, 1890-1995". I started out creating what...

Re: Rearrange Address and Place Parts Plugin - usage
Mr. Tate, I had missed the "result set" page. Thank you for pointing that out. I had already successfully merged and edited the place name, so only wondered about importing the resulting GEDCOM into FTM 2019. I had completely forgotten about the GEDCOM export plugin, which I already had installed. I...

Re: Rearrange Address and Place Parts Plugin - usage
I hope this get answered here since the discussion is a couple of years old. Wonderful plugin Mr. Tate!! After running the plugin and getting places with {A1} and {A2}, is it okay to merge those places and remove the {A1} or {A2} (using the edit function) from the place? Does that create any other p...

Re: Source Template for personal knowlege
I'm not using Ancestral Sources. So either the "essentials" or "advanced". And I'm fine with just using a basic book template, but thought there might be something more appropriate.

Re: Ancestral Sources Census Citations
Thank you Bill and Mike for the answers and suggestions. Mr. Tate, I haven't yet created a GEDCOM from a Family Historian file. I upload to a website created using TNG software. (from FTM) But one of the reasons I began using Family Historian was the Export Gedcom File plugin. And you're right about...

Re: Ancestral Sources Census Citations
Following the thinking of maintaining GEDCOM compliance, let me ask the following. A source is created for a death certificate (personally held). Is it better to create a new citation for each fact that it is used for? As opposed to "copy and paste" of a single citation? And knowing that sources tha...

Re: Ancestral Sources Census Citations
Thank you all very much. I understand now. I think a lot of my confusion results from different interpretations of terms such as source, citation, fact, event, attribute, etc. As Mr. Tate mentioned, I AM coming from FTM to Family Historian. But one of the reasons I'm changing is because of GEDCOM sp...

Ancestral Sources Census Citations

Fact Sentences that use "Aged"
Many fact sentences use "age." When the sentences are printed in a report or narrative, the result is " .....aged 6." In my opinion, the sentence would read better if it said "......aged 6 years." Am I just being OCD? Is there a genealogical standard for this? I know how to change this in TOOLS>Fact...

The advanced template for the U.S. Census seems to be missing a period after the "S" in the title. It is easily corrected manually, I just didn't know how to address this issue or if anyone was aware.

Re: New user needs mentor with FTM 2019 and TNG experience
Mr. Tate, thanks for the quick reply. I can do as you suggested. Since I have your attention, I will ask a couple of questions. It's my understanding that you can export a gedcom file from Family Historian with the media attached. Not just the links. Is that correct? And that the "Export Gedcom File...
