I have also received 7.0.1.2 to confirm a fix for crossing lines being superimposed and communicating lines crossing in front of and behind boxes in diagrams.

Re: 1939 Register
However although it does not say so specifically, this looks like it does not apply to known deaths (although you can apply for individual ones to be opened). In the entry I refer to above, re submitting a request to open records, entries for my mother who died in 1999, one uncle who died in 1992 a...

Re: Question marks appearing in text
Coincidentally I found the same in a record note yesterday. It was information that I had copied and pasted from a website some time ago, but I'm pretty sure that it did not include the question marks when displayed in FH6. I've only noticed it since moving to FH7. I found that deleting the "?" symb...

This is the description of the register on the National Archives site. Sections 9 and 10 relate to closed records and requesting information from them.

Re: 1939 Register
I believe that you can request the opening of a closed record through the National Archives if you are a close relative of the person who's record is redacted, on payment of a fee and production of required supporting evidence. FMP say that they also offer the same service free to subscribers on sub...

Re: possible new item for wish list
If you download FH7 from Calico Pie's website, 7.0.1.1 is the version that is now offered. Running the installer automatically detects the original version of FH7 and updates it. It could be that CP have not automatically offered it as an update to the original version because they want to see if an...

Re: FH7 Full backup very slow
I can't say that I noticed any appreciable difference between FH6.2 and FH7 backup times, although I didn't actually time them. I've just done a full FH7 project backup to local disk at 47 seconds for 912MB/910 files. It's quite an old PC with two WD SATA drives that I copied across to.

It works for me, but I always click on Save on the toolbar and then click on the focus individual's box at the top of the focus window before launching AS Data Entry.

I had the impression from our previous conversation that all _RNOT type record links would be prefaced with the "@" symbol.

Re: Where Used Record Links v1.4 and Research Notes
Mike,
I've found another research note link that's not being shown with a preceding "@" character in WURL v1.5
"_RNOT.TEXT.SOUR" - created by citing an existing source from the Add Source Citation button drop down menu in the note window toolbar.
Sorry!

Re: No searchable text in PDF reports
I think that the formatting as an image is happening within FH, before the data is passed to the Nova PDF driver, since I've found that reports are printed as images in other PDF drivers that are installed on my PC, such as the CutePDF, Foxit and Quicken drivers. I normally print to CutePDF and noth...

Re: Where Used Record Links 1.4
Ron, if you select a record or range or records from the records tab before running the plugin, it assumes the selected records are the ones you are asking it to check, so you shouldn't see the prompt if you have previously unticked it. But if you run it without having first selected any records, it...

Re: V7 PDF creation very slow, creating huge files
I hadn't realised any of this until I read this thread. I'm running FH7 on a Win 8.1 64-bit PC with 16GB of RAM, and I have several different programs that all want to install and use their own PDF printer driver, so I tend to use CutePDF for all of them, including FH. I just tried printing a 37 pag...

Re: Where Used Record Links v1.4 and Research Notes
Mike,
The @ symbol or a similar "unique" prefix would be my preference, to make them more obvious as you say.
I'm a relatively new FH user though, so I'll leave it to you to do whatever you think is best
Thank you for solving it so quickly!

Where Used Record Links v1.4 and Research Notes
I'm not sure whether this is because I'm doing something wrong, or because the Where Used Record Links plugin doesn't support this particular scenario. I have an ancestor who married at least five times that I am aware of, and I have been in contact with other descendants to share and gather informa...

Re: Odd display at bottom of citation window
Mine looks like this. I can't get the Source media and Citation media text to appear to the left of the buttons at all. If I narrow the citation window either from the left or the right side, the right hand side of the Data Entry Assistant button is progressively cropped.

Re: My Heritage hints not working
It seems odd that the problem is persistent on my FH7 installation that I upgraded from FH6, but has not appeared at all on a clean FH7 trial version installation in which the MyHeritage hints continue to work normally. The issue wasn't apparent on my upgrade installation until three days after I ha...

Re: My Heritage hints not working
I have the same issue, but only since yesterday. I installed FH7 over FH6 on the 15th December, but did not start getting the warnings until yesterday, on a native Win 8.1 PC. I also installed the trial version as a clean install on a Win 10 VM on the 10th. I've just logged in to that, and both FMP ...

A final update, following a reply from the GRO. Since sending my original enquery, I received two interim replies confirming that my email had been forwarded to relevant departments for further enquiries, which gave me some hope, as at least they hadn't replied with an outright "No". Re: Information re a historic Birth Certificate application.
I've had a preliminary acknowledgement for my enquiry with GRO, confirming that they will respond more fully in due course. Victor, the issue is not with attempting to locate any individual BMD records. I have a copy of the birth record for the person who I now believe to be my grandfather. I have a...

That explains why I appeared to have an account in that the site recognised my email address and wouldn't let me register again, but I couldn't find a record of a password in my password manager. I too failed to receive a password reset email and opened a support ticket. To give Calico Pie their due...
