Re: My Heritage - Fault?
Exactly the same for me. All data is on the PC and the ISP is Plusnet. The message first started about a week or so ago and has now been reworded to "temporarily unavailable" but none of the suggestions work. I think there was a brief respite one day last week when a couple of MH hints were shown a...

Re: My Heritage - Fault?
Are others who experienced this issue still seeing it? Looking at my FH log files, I have had it consistently since 17th October. I was repeatedly seeing the "MyHeritage service has stopped" message within a few minutes of starting FH or opening a project. A couple of days ago, on one occasion I not...

Re: My Heritage - Fault?
I'm not using any cloud or external drives, just the projects on a partition on my desktop. The issue started about three or four days ago for me. It happens within a few minutes of opening FH. If I close the current project and open a different one, after a few minutes I get the error message box a...

Re: My Heritage - Fault?
Did you read the addition to the link, dated 19th October?
"We are a aware of a DNS routing issue which affects some users only and are working with the relevant ISPs to fix this."
I am experiencing the same issue. My ISP is Plusnet. Possibly that may mean that all BT users are also affected?

Re: Exception Report on opening file
This is the relevant section of the project gedcom that was saved as a backup after adding the individual and before closing FH (line numbers reproduced from my text editor): ----------------------------- 77865 0 @I1619@ INDI 77866 1 NAME Unknown /McCaw/ 77867 1 SEX M 77868 1 SEX M 77869 1 FAMC @F56...

Re: Exception Report on opening file
Thank you both. I have been out most of the afternoon, but will do some investigating and report back. At least I gather that it seems to have been a fairly simple error that is unlikely to have caused any longer term detrimental issues with my project file!

Exception Report on opening file
This morning when opening FH, I received the following exception report: --------------------------------------------------------- Record Type=Individual. Gedcom Id=I1619. Re: FH Version 7.0.8.2 and FMP Hints
FMP website working fine for me too when accessed directly. I fired up my laptop which also has FH 7.0.7 on it and I'm getting the exact same symptoms as on my desktop with FMP hints, so agree that it looks like a FH/FMP issue rather than a local computer problem. I've occasionally experienced simil...

Re: FH Version 7.0.8.2 and FMP Hints
I am seeing the same problem this morning, although still on 7.0.7. The error message alternates between the "Oops, something went wrong" message, and a 400 error, "bad cookie header", both in the internal and my external browser (Chrome). I've tried deleting all cookies from Chrome, but I don't kno...

Re: Reordering Events in Property Box
Thanks Brent. I thought it must just have been me not understanding something. If the death registration took place in a subsequent quarter though, the issue of out of sequence dates in the property box shouldn't arise even if the full quarter date was entered, as the start date will be after the da...

Re: Reordering Events in Property Box
I'm struggling to understand this, but it might be me. I only have one death fact per individual, since they can only die once. If I want to cite the GRO index record against the death, I create a source for the record and cite it against the death fact, with the relevant quarter date. If I then obt...

Re: Birth places etc on Censuses
I may be wrong, but I've always thought that the place name autocomplete works on alphabetical priority. I have Barking and Basildon in my project. If I type B as the first letter in the place field, autocomplete fills the field with Barking. If I type A as the second letter, it remains as Barking. ...

Re: Automatic Source Citations for Names not working in V7?
I can confirm the problem with alternate names. Whilst ASC does not add a source citation to the sex of an individual, it does add the source to the whole record if enabled when the individuals' sex is selected.

Re: Automatic Source Citations for Names not working in V7?
I'm not seeing that at all. I've added several new individuals in the last couple of days using ASC and the source was added to the name as soon as I tabbed out of the name box. I've just tried it again with the sample project, creating a new individual with ASC enabled and the chosen source was att...

Re: Narrative Report Marriage Details
Mike, I am not as proficient as you with the workings of FHG, nor it's many settings, which may just be why I asked for help? Having said that, I have reported bugs to CP and demonstrated them to their satisfaction after they were unable to replicate them, so I don't think I am completely clueless. ...

Whilst you are quite right in saying that, the (mis)connection arose because, having perceived that the private fact flag did not seem to be working as I expected, I initially searched the forum for any threads on similar issues rather than jumping straight into composing a new thread that might hav...

Re: Private Fact Flag not working when creating Website
Thanks Mike. It may be another issue or a misunderstanding on my part then. As may be clearer from the attached image of the individual's facts tab, I am trying to prevent all the facts after 1911 from being separately mentioned in an individual narrative report, as I have created a free text note t...

I am seeing the same issue as 19558|Private Fact Flag not working when creating Website but with a report, where I have set the private flag for two facts that I wished to suppress (v7.0.7) Both facts still appear although I have "Hide all private facts (where the "Private" flag is set)" enabled in ...

Re: Text from source
Wouldn't it be easier to cut and paste additional information into the source record after AS has finished doing its thing? As an aside, the so called "transcripts" of census and other records used by FMP are often not true transcripts of the associated records as such. The one above being an exampl...

Re: New browser engine and file downloads

Re: New browser engine and file downloads
It's not clear whether that is a fundamental limitation of the WebView 2 control in its current form, or something that CP could fix. I've tried looking at the documentation, but it is aimed at professional developers and most of it goes way over my head :?. It goes over mine too. But the "C:\Progr...
