Re: Version 7.0.20 Released
In some projects I can see a unique id in the all tab, but in the first project I looked at they've totally gone.

I've just opened a project using 7.0.20 and all of the UIDs used by the Ancestry Synchronisation plugin have disappeared.

Re: FH7 ancestry generations question
Steve, If we've correctly identified the setting you are referring to, it is just the maximum number of generations that can displayed when looking at the Ancestors tab of the focus window (shown behind the Preferences in my screen shot). Double click any of the ancestors and you will see their earl...

How does this suggestion work for names like Ding Junhui where Ding is the family name and Junhui is his given name? If it's internationalised it should work for Chinese names!
At the moment the name would be entered as /Ding/ Junhui

Even free Android apps it nags you for a card when you try to download them (you can skip over that) - if you don't see that you've given them a card.

Re: Recording DNA matches in Family Historian
This works with the commas:
Replace GetLabelledText(%FACT.NOTE2%,"Shared DNA:") with your existing expression (twice).
Code: Select all
=TextToNumber(Text(TextPart(GetLabelledText(%FACT.NOTE2%,"Shared DNA:"),1,1,STD) . TextPart(GetLabelledText(%FACT.NOTE2%,"Shared DNA:"),2,1,STD)))- 28 Mar 2023 07:41

Re: Recording DNA matches in Family Historian
My query isn't the same, but this will show you how to do it. Wrap the code in bold red round the existing expression to do the conversion: = TextToNumber(Section( GetLabelledText(%FACT.NOTE2%,"Shared DNA:") ,1," ")) You'd probably want to change the heading to Overlap (cM) Edit: Just realised this ...

Re: Place Exceptions plugin error
I suspect you are thinking of the Clean up Surname Capitalisation plugin which capitalises the 1st letter of every 'word' and converts all other letters to lowercase except for 4 special cases, which can only be extended by the user editing the plugin. I was. Maybe your suggestion is the basis for ...

For example, how should the plugin deal with these real Place names if only one variant exists in the data? Where there are multiples with different capitalisations you pick them up as Similarity. But singletons with dodgy capitalisation don't get reported.

Mike, had you considered adding capitalisation validation?
Something else I'm helping with came a cropper because of a place like East ham, Essex, England.

I have 7.7.1 installed. Why I use Check for Updates it says "You already have the latest version of Ancestral Sources". Why isn't it offering an update to 7.7.2?

My question was a bit tongue in cheek. What I've done (and will continue to do) is enter it exactly as on the census. As a dated fact that is what was stated on that date. The only ones I do change are the abbreviations such as Ag. Lab. (a lot of my family are from Depwade area of Norfolk and from L...
