Re: Show Project Statistics discussion
You need to put the cursor over the divider between the column headings (the cursor changes from a + to a left/right arrow). What is misleading is that as you drag, nothing moves until you release.

@Mark
I presume you know about holding the shift key down while resizing columns? (I only discovered it after dragging all the following columns one by one!)

Re: Show Project Statistics discussion
The only minor gripe I have with this plugin is that when you Export CSV files the file for the data table is an absolute mess because of the carriage returns in the headings: Data, Fact Types ,Media Keywords, Places ,Addresses,Occu- pations,Religions,Groups Castes,National Origins,Education Context...

Re: Show Project Statistics discussion
The main menu window struck me as a bit unusual. You have fixed the minimum size, but not the maximum. I can't see any point in expanding it, as it simply creates whitespace alongside the display grid and makes the option buttons look distinctly odd. I can't think of any other apps that behave like...

I think the big question here is not why was it happening, but why did none of us say anything for so long!

Re: Convert tabbed text to table
Could you point me to the code in one that does this and I'll see if I can lift it. It may be a bit of a jump in at the deep end, but it may be a way of starting to learn lua programming. I always find with any programming environment, having a clear goal is a great incentive to learning how.

Re: Convert tabbed text to table
I'm a splitter so it works perfectly for me - thanks Jane. One minor niggle: the size of the dialog box where you select the text to be converted is always way too small and if you are working on a number of sources you have to stretch the box every time. I've managed to find where it is defined and...

Convert tabbed text to table
Having upgraded to v7 I'm going to use the rich text source transcriptions in Ancestral Sources from now on.
For consistency in the census sources I'd like to go back over all the existing sources and change the tabbed (with | delimiters) in to tables.
Has anyone come up with an easy way to do this?

Re: This week's active discussion topics in the FHUG Forums email
I get the email twice sometimes, and that's definitely not the case, Mike. I don't have two accounts or any mail redirections in place. Interesting! It's only started happening in the last few months - is that the same for you? Are your message about 5 minutes apart? Mine were timed at 08:10:28 and...

Re: This week's active discussion topics in the FHUG Forums email
I don't think you can use forgotten password with an email address unless you used it as your username. e.g. Your current account username is jelv not your email address. The forgotten password page specifically asks for the email address not user name: FHUG forgotten password.png Is it possible th...

Re: This week's active discussion topics in the FHUG Forums email
Thanks Jane. I'm wondering if somehow I ended up with two accounts with the same email address? It's a long shot as I would have thought that the forum software wouldn't allow two accounts with the same email (unique on the table column?). Is that something you could easily check by looking in the f...

This week's active discussion topics in the FHUG Forums email
Each week I get two identical copies of this email, sent about 5 minutes apart. They are to the same email address.
Why?

Re: FTP Website Manager
I've just tried using this plugin and it failed with this error: [string "C:\ProgramData\Calico Pie\Family Historian\..."]:358: LuaSQL: 5 values for 6 columns. No changes have been made to data records. I've never programmed with lua, but nevertheless had a look at the source code. Just above line 3...

Re: view PDF files
It may have changed, but you always used to have to use the 32 bit version to work with pdf files. The 64 bit version is only needed if you are working with humungous images. Both versions can be installed on the same PC without any issues. Although I am using 64 bit windows I only have the 32 bit v...

Re: view PDF files
Is converting the PDF to a multi-page TIF (which Irfanview will do) an option?
PS It has to be the 32bit version of Irfanview, not the 64 bit.

I also have this query which shows the individuals ages at all the censuses (I've entered them using Ancestral Sources). If there is a census fact without an age it shows ???

Re: Multiple Windows
Slightly off topic but something I learnt recently that is useful when you have multiple windows across multiple screens: if you hold down the Windows and shift keys, the cursor keys will move the current window from one screen to another.
