Have you tried using the inbuilt data entry in FH 7 for one of the earlier censuses? I did once after I upgraded to v7 and went straight back to using AS.

Wouldn't swapping the two lines round have worked? I.e.

Add if %INDI._ATTR-RESEARCHNOTE[1].PLAC>% contains 'Rowley'.

Try using Backup and Restore Family Historian Settings via Windows - it's the newer plugin and I find it a lot easier to use.
