Re: Import vs Merge from FindMyPast
I appreciate what you say about FH not being able to fix all 'anomalies'. However, what I am seeing is the when merging a FMP file, it ignores ALL census and 1939 Register facts. I assume the underlying issue is that FMP identifies these as Events (EVEN) whereas FH identifies them as Facts (FACT). T...

Re: Import vs Merge from FindMyPast
Mike, Thanks for the reply and explanation. I have looked at the GEDCOM files generated by both FMP and FH. I can see that all the missing facts are designated 'EVEN' by FindMyPast and converted to 'FACT when exported by FH. As FH can interpret and fix on importing a FMD GEDCOM file, why can it not ...

Re: Recording Census Sources
Thanks for the replies, it gives me something more to look at. I have looked at the references tatewise suggests, but have had a little difficulty making them work as I expect, most likely to me being unfamiliar with the terminology . Having followed David's logic forward, I believe the duplication ...

Recording Census Sources
I am new to FH and have imported my GEDCOM file from findmypast. The main rationale for this is to be able to produce a complete family history story. FH seemed to be a good option as it has reporting options that should make that possible. After importing the GEDCOM file, none of the media records ...
