Fact Sentences
I've tended to be reluctant to use manual alterations to any facts by editing in the Property Box. My main issue is that I've gradually going through all of my Facts changing to the wording I want, and often using Auto-Create notes. Later I have also been re-editing them as I learn and understand mo...

Clone any Record Plug-in
This has been a great plug-in to use. I wonder if at some stage (no rush) a couple of enhancements could be considered. Allow the user to create a user defined number of clones Allow the user to suppress the result set I often use the plugin to create multiple copies of an empty "template" where man...

I'm creating a Auto-Text template for a Canadian Marriage. This one has a section for witnesses as shown below:- assoclist.jpg As far as I can see from the help file, all the ASSOCLIST keywords produce a LIST of in this case Witnesses. Am I correct in assuming that there is no way to output them to ...

Re: Anyone want to create a simple article on the KB?
That sounds like a simple task I'd be happy with, and it would be quite difficult to mess up! Anything else that needs basic knowledge I'd have a go at.tagging the ones that are OK as V7-compatible

I'm pretty sure English certificates will be the sameCause of death and duration of final illness - if you find an unknown term check the glossary - medical terms for further information

Re: Multiple Source Citations
You never know when another piece of (conflicting) evidence will turn up and you need to review ALL the reasons you've reached your current conclusion, in case the new evidence overturns it. That is a good point, thanks. One weakness of FH queries is that the order of citations matters when designi...

Multiple Source Citations
I'd be interested in how others deal with this situation. I have an individual whose gravestone gives a year of birth, and so I cite it on the Birth Fact. Some months later I obtain his/her birth certificate, which confirms the year and obviously adds the actual date and is also added to the Birth f...

Creating an Ordinal Date phrase
Working in AutoText for Births, if I create a phrase using {DATEREGISTERED.MONTH.SHORT} {DATEREGISTERED.DAY.ORD} {DATEREGISTERED.YEAR} then the date appears with a double space between the day and the year, as in Sep 14th 1912 This happens with Date, and with Marriage Date as well. It looks wrong to...

Backup & Restore error
I ran this plugin this morning without any issues.
Then I made a minor change, so I went to rerun it. I noticed however there was an update, so I installed it, and got an immediate error on trying to run it again.
Sorry to start your day off this way!

Re: Fact spanning multiple time frame sources
Thanks for your thoughts.
That seems to make sense as doesFor consistency, I wouldn't even enter the wife as a witness.
For children, I also give them their own Residence fact

Fact spanning multiple time frame sources
I have a family (husb & wife) for whom I have six Electoral Register sources, spanning approx 30 years, all resident at the same address. Rather than enter 6 Facts, I've created one for the husband with dates "btw 1949 and 1972" and added Citations for each of the six sources. The wife has been ente...

Source from Template - Type
Am I doing something wrong here?
I've entered a number of Sources using the Civil Registration Template. In the Source Records Window, they are showing with no Type. But If I try to open them to edit them I can't because the type already exists and is set to (in this case) Death.

Editing Auto Text
This is a wish list request for two usability amends to the edit process, but absolutely no rush to consider it. Others of course may prefer to leave it as is - this is purely my view. When editing an Auto Text entry, any amendment to the text eg even the addition of a space character results in the...
