Re: Census Tabs
Hi Teresa, Couldn't resist having a play now. As I suspected, there is only scope to have two entries on a line. I do not know if it is possible to have Place & Address in one section (I did try to do so but it tells me it is invalid. Any more ideas are beyond my ability, but perhaps one of the expe...

Re: Census Tabs
Never tried that, but I'll have a go next week. I seem to recall that you can only have 2 entries on a line. I will check tho!

Re: Census Tabs
Of course it can be re-defined in any way that people want, and if there's a demand for it, then I'm happy to do so. Just for info, my reasons for doing it this way are it was a quick and dirty adaptation of the original ie minimal work required the entire purpose of the tab (for me) is to show me g...

Census Tabs
Following on from an earlier discussion on the 1921 census, here's another version of this tab that might be of interest. I've added the common US & Canadian census years from the 20th century to this tab as shown. I know that it can make the screen quite busy, particularly on smaller screens. Censu...

Re: 'Automatic Source Citation' problems
Just back and I saw this question
I'm pleased to see you've dealt with it with CP. ThanksColin, is there any merit in resuming that discussion with Ros armed with the above knowledge of how FH V6.2.7 works?

Re: 'Automatic Source Citation' problems
Mike I posted a similar question to CP in November 2021. I can't find a copy of my original enquiry, but this is the reply I got from Ros on 21st Nov. Witnesses do not have citations of their own the source citation should be added against the fact when the fact is created. If you subsequently add a...

Re: AS v7.3 available to test
I've managed to input about a dozen census entries for different countries and not spotted any issues. Haven't had time to look at others.

Re: AS v7.3 available to test
Nick
I literally have had no time to do anything till late this evening. But I've just managed to try my first Census on any of the versions. I'm now on (7.3.2)
I'm trying to recall, but I can't remember if that "Default" box appeared in the old version.

Re: AS v7.3 available to test
Thanks
Import didn't work for me however. I keep my settings at D:\Ancestral Sources\Settings so it is on a remote (ssd) drive.
So I had to hunt for it, and at bottom right it is telling me to look for an Autotext file

Re: AS v7.3 available to test - Hide Built-in if Modified
Thanks for the info on where it was. I'd looked at page 1 of the settings, but not at that one!
I'm still seeing this
if Hide Built-in if Modified (or if Hide all Built in is selected.)

Re: AS v7.3 available to test -importing Census Settings
I have modified most of the default census settings (minor text changes for my choice of presentation only), and so I appreciated the warning message when I started 7.3. Of course by the time I came to import the old file, the message was no longer in view to remind me what file I' was looking for, ...

Re: AS v7.3 available to test
Nick Many thanks for another version, it is very much appreciated. So far, all I've done is installed and looked at the various changes with Autotext, and with re-importing all my census templates. (I don't have any new 21 details to enter anyway) At the moment, I cannot seem to find There are optio...

Report layout/spacing
In this case I'm looking at the Descendants by Generation Report. Paras.jpg The paragraphs in the section marked "2" are well spaced out (a little bit too far apart for my liking in a long report), while by contrast, the sentences in the area marked "1" are very difficult to read, particularly in an...

Re: Backup & Restore Plugin error
Thanks for the confirmation.
As an aside, I do not have a .reg file anywhere on my PC. Once the plugin completes and tidies up, should there be a .reg file?

Re: Backup & Restore Plugin error
Thanks for the help so far. Just run the plugin again, and this time it opened as expected. The .bat file is there now - but disappears after completion - presumably under plugin control. @ECHO OFF ECHO. ECHO REG QUERY "HKLM\SOFTWARE\Calico Pie" /S ECHO. Re: Auto-Create Note
I suspect it is the {=GetlabelledText(%FACT.NOTE2%,"Note: ")} function that is truncating the text despite that it says in the FHUG KB Display long text such as Notes that function does NOT truncate long text. It may be that function was never checked with long enough text or it has changed in FH v...
